Metal Gas Tank - Dent Repair

Been there, done it. LOL :LOL2: I think I was in 6th grade. I quickly learned that while smokeless powder burns at a controlled rate, black powder is all at once. And God help you if your hands or face are in close proximity.

Metal Gas Tank - Dent Repair

Yep, I remember my days as a professional *******, playing with gas, gunpowder, etc. It's a miracle I still have both eyes and all my fingers.

ALUMA-JET- Duracraft 1648 SV Jetboat Conversion

Last month's storm tides carved a new inlet through the beach, which is now passable at mid tide with the jet boat. Having a little fun at being one of the first people to run this inlet, and just one more reason I love a jet boat...

    Gas tanks

I put them on either side of the engine, like so: But, because the tanks are square, and the boat's gunwale is angled, this poses a problem with your poly fuel tanks. Not enough room. Which is why I took 13 gallon factory aluminum tanks, and modified them like this: When I had the 2...

    Gas tanks

I'm running 2 tanks, 11 gallons each. Since my engine is a 4 stroke, and it uses an electric fuel pump which is quite expensive, only my port side tank has a fuel pump. So, how do I get the fuel from one tank to the other? Good question! Getting this to work correctly required some trial and...

Yamaha Jet pump all-stainless wear ring assembly

  I guess that's another good reason for having the support brackets on the thrust nozzle, as well as the wear ring. Like you said, those long 6mm bolts aren't very strong, in fact, often times, they snap when the threads seize up in the pump intake assembly. I agree with the...

Yamaha Jet pump all-stainless wear ring assembly

I would recommend adding some brackets to bolt the pump nozzle support brackets to. That's a lot of unsupported weight/thrust back there.

    Property Taxes

I apologize in advance for this rant....... They should call property taxes what they really are......an OWNERSHIP PENALTY Because that's exactly what it is, you are being penalized for owning something. Or to be more correct, you are merely renting the property from its true owner, the...

1/2 inch strainer on a 3/8 inch line any problems?

Another way to know if the strainer clogs and flow is reduced to the engine is to install an outboard water pressure gage. Be sure to install it between the strainer and the engine, not between the pump and the strainer. Reason being is that if it's between the pump and the strainer and it...

Adding a zinc anode to a tin boat for saltwater use

As crazy as it may sound, the BEST anode for an aluminum boat is an aluminum anode. It provides protection in salt, and brackish waters. Magnesium is too reactive for salt water, and will actually lift the paint off the boat. Zinc isn't reactive enough, and the boat will corrode if you leave...

bolt in jet ski intake grates and pumps

Yep, what amk said. $$$$ Most people that build a jet john the first time out aren't into spending a lot of money to get a running boat. They may spend the money on fabricating decking or other structures, and everything else that building a boat entails, but most people are looking for a...

bolt in jet ski intake grates and pumps

Adding another outlet on the thrust nozzle would give you the cooling water to run the on-board liquid/liquid heat exchanger. Although it is indeed a closed loop system for the engine, it still uses raw water and a total loss system for the exhaust manifold cooling. The line for the exhaust has...

    Anyone own a fish tank?

I've got a 100 gallon tank that's recessed into the wall of my living room. Originally, it was a saltwater tank with live rock, coral, and fish. I had the whole setup including metal halide lights, chiller, cooling fans, wet/dry sump filter, basically everything that's required for a reef tank...

Yamaha Jet pump all-stainless wear ring assembly

There is definitely a noticeable difference in the configuration of the vanes of the OEM pump vs. the 12 vane. I feel pretty sure my boat would see some appreciable gains in performance with one of those. Just gotta save up the cash to get one.

Please bear, stop eating my kayak!

After hearing that shrill voice in the video, I don't think he was trying to eat the kayak, but instead, I think the bear was trying to find her camping gear, in the hopes it contained a fork to stab his eardrums with.
