    Lowe 1442M bow mount TM

I have never seen 36 inch in a bow mount configuration…….other than using a transom type on the bow with the head turned around. If you are talking foot controlled….or remote power steer…….it’s 45 inches or larger. Are you worried about the head sticking up and getting in the way?

    Deploying a Minn Kota V2

    Helix 7

    That’s a nice console. All flat surfaces…..

    Helix 7

Could not find a RAM mount locally so I ordered one directly from their website. I am going to run the power cable back to the battery and put an inline fuse on it. It’s easy enough to do so why take chances with interference. I have the same scenario with the wires running to the back. I can...

    Helix 7

Ldubs…..did you go direct to the battery or wired to a circuit in the console? My current fish Finder is on a dedicated switch (breaker) so it would be by itself. A lot of people say to wire direct to battery for noise issues but the Humminbird installation guide shows wiring to the circuit system.

    Helix 7

I got mail….. :D Now I need to pick a location and buy or fabricate a mount. I have two locations I like. On the starboard side flat of the console with a RAM mount. It would be easily detachable and adjustable for screen glare issues. …..I cant do flush mount but I can put it in front...

    Minn Kota rant

Boy…..this went way out in the weeds…… :LOL2: When you buy something you want it to work. If it doesn’t work, the company has 3 choices…… Fix, exchange, or refund. If they have supply chain issues for the parts…it’s a them problem. Next on the list is exchange. If they can’t do that it’s...

I really didn’t need this today.

    Tough break…………I know the feeling.

    Helix 7

I never had anything but a Humminbird 197c. I didn’t use it for marking fish…it was more for not running the boat too shallow and the water temperature reading is great to know when chasing stripers in the tidal rivers. My buddy got a Lowrance 9 inch recently for his Ranger boat and I realized...

    Helix 7

Show me your Helix 7 mounted in the console area……pics please. :LOL2: Just pulled the trigger on a Helix 7 GPS G4 with Side Imaging with transom transducer for my 16 ft. side console. I’m not sure how or where I want to mount it to the console. I need some inspiration………

    Easiest to crank boat winch

I’m a guy with 2 bad shoulders…..that’s on my list now…..as of now a strategically placed roller helps bit as my issues progress (they do with age) I will be going this route………

    Easiest to crank boat winch

They sure are pretty when new………. Fallon makes good products. I bought the F2 trailer Jack last year. Built like a tank…..

    Easiest to crank boat winch

It’s impossible with available products to decrease the effort without losing speed. It’s just the way gears work.…With the roller trailer you are already reducing friction significantly. I would suggest the electric winch……it may be slow, but it removes your physical effort from the equation...

    Trailer upgrades……

Today I finally had some free time to run my boat on the local river and test out my trailer mods. It made launching and loading very easy. It fixed the issues I was having……I can power up the v roller and then hook it up to the winch and crank it in without the keel rubbing on the center bar...

I would get that impeller/water pump going before buying any other motor parts. The only way to make a good assessment is if it’s running and you don’t want to do that if it’s not pumping water. Here is an interesting YouTube video. The first two minutes is about a charger but then he gets into...

Restoring transom of aluminum skiff Valco Bayrunner BR-15

That looks like it was designed for salt water………nice lines.

    New boat owner - 1975 Valco 13ft

I agree with the above statement. That block wood looks pretty but it is glued up. It will end up splitting at the glue joints. Plywood is a better and more commonly used wood for transoms. Seal it good and what ever you do…..do not use pressure treated wood. That’s a nice boat to work with...
