I knew things were going to good /1992 2 stroke 40hp Yamaha

Mine had 289,000 miles ( 2005 Ford F-150)on it when I traded for the 2016 I now have. Other than regular maintenance I rebuilt the transmission once. And right after back surgery I talked my wife through replacing the water pump herself. As long as you take care of something it’ll usually last...

I knew things were going to good /1992 2 stroke 40hp Yamaha

Thanks airshot. I appreciate the brake pad advice but I have warped rotors as well. My truck has some upgrades and the brakes need to be upgraded as well. I have a brake kit coming for all four wheels from Power Stop. The last time I tried decarbing I had a can of CRC marine engine tune and...

Thanks for the advice I appreciate it a lot. I’ve been sufferIng from a reoccurring health issues this week so I’ve missed a few days on here. After a lot of shopping I ended up going with Summit Racing. They beat everyone by almost a hundred bucks. Never heard of a lifetime warranty on brakes...

Thank you .After several videos I decided that if I can be careful with other delicate work I’ve done I should be able to use the screw method without damaging anything.

    Well, Now I did it!

I may be mistaken but I think they all have thermostats. Mine is a 1992 and it has one. It was the first bolt I broke off when I got it. Come to find out it had the original in it. Easy to change like the impeller is. Your manual will give you more confidence as well as take pictures with your...

    Well, Now I did it!

No dumb questions here. If there is trust me I’ve already asked them. The water flow does slow down along with the engine speed.

Braided vs monofilament/ Sorry I originally posted this in the wrong place

Use what works best for you. Palomar is my go to knot for almost everything. When bass fishing I can retire a different lure in a minute unless I’m using a Carolina rig. I’ll use some monofilament as a backer on my bass reels the double uni it to the braid and finish spooling the reel. My...

Braided vs monofilament/ Sorry I originally posted this in the wrong place

What type of fishing do you mainly do? I’ve switched from mostly bass to catfish and have a couple rigged up still for bass which I like the sensitivity of braid then. When I tournament fished 20+ years ago I used all Big game because of wear I’d have to pull those lunkers out of. As many times...

Sonny, about how long are you waiting between coast or does it take just knowing how to go by what it looks like? I’ve been in my sick chair most of this week is why I’ve got so many replies here in a row. I’m trying to catch up. Next I’m headed over to my thread about my lower unit. Your awesome...

Total Boat makes great top notch stuff. I used their epoxy for redoing some patch work I found on mine. Also my UNTREATED 15/32 plywood flooring is treated with Total Boat penetrating epoxy every edge and hole I drilled. I capitalized untreated because I found 3/4” treated in it and had a lot of...

Good idea of wetting the floor I’ll remember that when I clean up my shop and get ready to paint mine. The way it is now if I paint something small I’ll wear a head lamp for extra light and last time could see dust particles floating in the air.

Let me ask you Sonny. Acetone to clean then alcohol to remove any film from the acetone. Am I correct? Because I’ve been using either one or the other on what little painting I’ve done.

I knew things were going to good /1992 2 stroke 40hp Yamaha

Everything happens at once sometimes. That’s life and we just have to deal with it. I’ve green putting off doing the brakes on my truck. Now I have to before I damage anything else. And I’m upgrading the pads and rotors so I’m about to drop some bills. That’s me doing the work. I have fresh...
