Opportunity to buy back my old boat.....BUT???

keep thinking about it, but no decision as of yet. I guess, as someone mentioned, it is so similar to what I already have, it does not provide any different use options, other than maybe salt water, which would be very limited use

Bow Mounted FF and Transducer Questions

Th Garmin Echomap is 10"...slightly larger than my 9" Lowrance console unit...but it is Garmin which is a different platform. Good info on needing to bend over to make adjustments. Even sitting, I would still need to bend over slightly if I use a high rise mount. NOTE: I'm probably about the...

Opportunity to buy back my old boat.....BUT???

I agree....I'm tempted to buy back and repair, and maybe use it as an Ocean/Bay boat down in LA/SD. Both cruising my old sailing grounds and maybe some halibut fishing in the LB oil island area. However, the salt water will quickly corrode trailer...especially for a painted trailer/freshwater...

Below the waterline sealant for screw holes?

Specs on Life Calk....I began using it as I had teak on my sailboats, then began using it on many other items.....deck hardware, railing, etc. It's very versatile. Per Boat Life: "A long lasting, permanently flexible marine polysulfide sealant which can be sanded, painted***, and used above...

Below the waterline sealant for screw holes?

I always use Life Calk Polysulfide for anything underwater. Been using it for over 30 years on sail and power boats. IMO, 5200 is too permanent.

Opportunity to buy back my old boat.....BUT???

He's willing to accept $3K for it as is. Heck, the 2017 Yamaha F25 LWTC (220 hrs) may be worth close to that?

Opportunity to buy back my old boat.....BUT???

Yes, both boats cover pretty much the same uses. However, the Alumacraft could be my saltwater boat whenever I have feel the need to visit the ocean. It's a 100 mile trip so not very often. I did remove the floors when I owned the boat but can not recall if there was foam beneath the floor...

Opportunity to buy back my old boat.....BUT???

Does this type of original foam absorb water? If so, why would builders use foam that absorbs water? Would it have to be removed and replaced? Can it be dried out in the HOT desert sun!

    TimeUSB 100AH 12.8V Pro LiFePO4 Battery Review

IIRC...my LiTime batts required a discharge and charge to prepare them for use. Was pretty easy to get them prepared. The preparation instructions can be found on respective batts websites so you can be prepared when you receive them. I've read that since they are actually a tad over 25V...

Opportunity to buy back my old boat.....BUT???

Background: I sold my 2017 Alumacraft last year. I used the funds towards the purchase of a new 2023 Tracker Pro Guide V16SC....which is exactly what I wanted and is a great boat! I spent much time and $$ building out the Alumacraft. It has a 2017 Karavan painted trailer and a 2017 Yamaha 25...

What have you done to your Tin Boat today?

Didn't the Canadian model come with bow and rear side rails? My dad was looking for a Canadian last year but could not find one close enough. He ended up finding a Crestliner Sportsman 14. He added his own custom made rails since he liked how they look on the Canadian. He opted to paint them...

hull creased just in front of transom: fix or not?

Just to be clear....are you referring to the depressions in the hull caused by the rollers? If so, I'd leave them alone. Convert to a bunk trailer using as long as bunks as you can (be sure to allow the bunks to stick out at least 2" beyond rear/bottom of hull). You could pound out the...
