    18ft vs 22ft aluminum boat/trailer package weight?

Yeah for just salt use I'd probably stay fiberglass too. Especially if it gets left In the water for periods of time. I've taken mine into brackish waters and always spend an hr after the days fishing is done cleaning everything and spraying down the hull . Lot of people in the pacific north...

    Skeeters Hate Me?!

Up untill around 2015ish I swear I was bug resistant. I attribute it to time spent in the military dousing all my uniforms in permethrin my body absorbed it over the years. It's since worn off and I now carry off deep woods with me everywhere I go lol.

    18ft vs 22ft aluminum boat/trailer package weight?

I think xpress may be counting things like wiring and seats/leaning post in with that depending where you look. Their website claims 1486lbs but paperwork that came with my boat says 1746lbs. Either was still surprising the weight compared to your fiberglass boat. Wonder how much all that...

    18ft vs 22ft aluminum boat/trailer package weight?

That is interesting bare hull vs bare hull my 20ft aluminum weighs more @ 1800lbs according to manufacturerer so I'd say your 4k est on yours is probably quite close. Your mpg is really close to mine as well I'm running a 150sho so really just a detuned 2.8L 200hp 4 cylinder.

    18ft vs 22ft aluminum boat/trailer package weight?

Xpress has 2 lines of bay boats. The H series like I have and the x series. The x series is 6" wider with 8" more freeboard and a self baling hull. Obviously the x would be a bit heavier.

    18ft vs 22ft aluminum boat/trailer package weight?

Most likely. My h20 is optioned out with radio & speakers, washdown pump, 2 bilge pumps , swim ladder etc and it all adds up. I've since gone to a lifepo4 36v for the trolling motor that saved a bit of weight vs the 3 12v. We come home sometimes with the 40 gallon live well filled too so that...

    18ft vs 22ft aluminum boat/trailer package weight?

I have a xpress h20 bay with 150sho on a dual axle trailer. With a full tank of fuel, 4 batteries and light gear it weighed 4400lbs ish can't recall exact #. Wife owns a cherokee with tow package and the 5k lb rating which is what lead me to drag it to a cat scale not far from home. I've...

What have you done to your Tin Boat today?

I think carlisle still makes a couple at a plant in TN but they are a HD tire more intended for 10k gvw+ type trailers.

What have you done to your Tin Boat today?

Discount tire is having a nice 4th July sale so I replaced the chinese rainier st tires that came with the trailer with some Goodyear endurance. These should last me awhile!

At what point do you abandon ship?

Your going to have to look at seaark, havoc, gator trax for a 1648 rated that high.

    Best fishing poles.

This...for bass/panfish/walleye rods that's all that's on my boat . Can get some really good deals on them at times. This winter I picked up a couple of the legend tournement bass series at sportsmans guide for 50% off. Have a couple of the mojo bass and a premiere too. Catfish rods are all...

At what point do you abandon ship?

Looks like a great candidate to learn how to weld aluminum on and you won't feel bad when you screw it up while learning.

What have you done to your Tin Boat today?

I'm not even spending a 1/4 of that In WV. I'm contracting out the concrete work and installing the steel garage on the slab and insulating it. I'll be doing all the electrical and framing up the inside and adding a 24k btu mini split. Might add a loft or 2nd level down the rd. I got it with...

    Spring Surprise

***** are tough to keep out they have opposable thumbs and can learn to undo latches on things. We had problems with them getting into the chicken coop when we first moved to WV. A Rottweiler and a 12gauge fixed my problem.

Boat ramp traffic way down and fewer boats on the water?

All the trawlers I'm looking at have little 3 or 4 cylinder diesels and top out around 20mph. Most sip around 2gal hr at cruising speed of 12mph or so. I couldn't imagine footing the fuel bill for a 35ft center console with 3 300hp outboards . Memorial day weekend we seen a 25ft or so...

Boat ramp traffic way down and fewer boats on the water?

I'm watching the "big boat" market closely. Looking to snag a project trawler around 35ft to fix up over the coming years. There is no shortage of them for much less than you might expect. Granted they are in need of a lot of work but I have a barn I can park it in and 6yrs to get it seaworthy...
