    SCREWED

Sounds like the situation I am in right now, storm passed through here over the weekend and my son who lives in my first home came by and said the roof is leaking into the master bathroom, said it started at 5:30 AM, he got floor cleaned up and the water stopped dripping from the ceiling but...

    SCREWED

The response to and crisis is what tells the whole story of what people are made of. Sonny1 is just a prime example of that very thing; bad as the storm was and the damage it inflicted upon him, his family and his community, he jumped right back up and began rebuilding/ restoring his life. Proud...

    Why blur out reg. numbers?

Having any number to a bank account opens the door for thieves to attack that very account; seriously not sure you thought about your answer here, bank fraud is at a record level with all types of check fraud happens every day (I know I work in banking) we try to educate people about banking...

    New to me classic aluminum.

Back when I was a kid, my Dad carried an old coffee can used to dump out the water in the boat if any got in there, that was my job "Time to bail the boat, son" Dad would say! God I miss those times fishing with my Dad!

    Grizzly 1448 Jet options

The foam Tracker uses in their boats will hold water like a sponge, just took out some foam in 1448 with a friend (his boat) and we had about 100 pounds of water in the foam, just squeezed it out like a sponge, not what I call a real attribute to being built like a tank, many of their hulls are...

Then those welded on trim tabs are working just fine, exactly what they were intended to accomplish, as long as it is just bow down and not plowing like you said (NO WORRIES); tabs will not affect motor with power T/T just add more benefits underway. Jack plates either manual or hydralic will...

    Newbie

Some call them a hook, but they are meant to keep the boat's nose down and control porpoising; trim tabs are 1 of many ways to control porpoising, tilt and trim on outboards most widely used, on fiberglass boat hook was built into the hulls to control porpoising and many bass boats had the hook...

    Lithium Battery Question - 50AH LiFeP04 for a 55# thrust Minn Kota?

I agree with both Airshot and Ray Clark, the devil is in the details (Warranty) from what I have learned reading many such warranties from different manufacturers is that they have or hire a team of legal experts to write their warranties to limit any risk, just common business and marketing...

What wood to use to replace transom?

Yes pricey but it does not soak up water and will last your life time, got to weight in all the factors; do it once and forget it.

    Lowe RX1860 Rambler Setup Suggestions

Re: What does "Hook" in a hull mean? The hook in the bottom of the boat if it is adjacent to the transom is probably built in by design. Its kinda like having a permanant trim tab installed. Its design is to help keep the bow down. If performance is what your looking for definately consider...

    Reshape and Balance Propeller?

I agree with AIRSHOT, minor maintenance or repairs can be done but as he said he is a skilled toolmaker so he has the tools and knowledge/understanding to accomplish this type of work.

    Lowe RX1860 Rambler Setup Suggestions

Many things can cause your boat to porpoise, load distribution, engine trim, engine set back, no trim tabs; the list goes on. Being a flat bottom boat adds to your dilemma and porpoising issues, I would most certainly look for the most obvious, engine placement, set back and trim, that being...

    Reshape and Balance Propeller?

Have a fishing buddy who tried this and ended up have to replace/rebuild his entire lower unit; I told him to just go get a new prop. but he was insistent on trying to fix what he had to save money, ended up costing him over 2K; just my thoughts!

What wood to use to replace transom?

I would look into COOSA BOARD as an alternative to plywood, does not absorb water and will not rot; glassing it in makes it even stronger!

40 HP pees but still overheat alarm at speed

I always replace the whole water pump assembly, best practice in boat service is to replace entire assembly. A blown head gasket would be the last thing on the list for me or my marine techs; does it happen of course but other things needs to be checked, 1st the water pump, sitting for that many...

40 HP pees but still overheat alarm at speed

Thank you airshot, this guy is very insistent on it being a blown head gasket; the compression test will answer that question for trackerpro91 but chill out - trackerpro91 and take each system one at a time and diagnose them, 1st replace the water pump, bottom line that needs to be replaced...
