    What is this Goop?

It's someone common to fill worn out automotive motor mounts with window weld (urethane). It works okay. Window weld is black so that's certainly not it, kinda looks to me like it might just be a type of polyurethane sealant/adhesive. The melting point is probably not high enough, however if...

    Fuel samples

Some mix oils have a darker blue dye that makes premix fuel pretty obvious, I've seen others with a greenish tint to where it's difficult to tell if it had been mixed or not. An easy comparison, pour 25oz of gas in a jar and mix in a half ounce of oil. See if it looks like your samples. To my...

    Best size/type Jon boat?

Provided you aren't limited by towing or storage space constraints I'd say no smaller than a 16' with a good size outboard (25hp+).

Another Dia vs Pitch Prop question

A Sierra tach is only about $80. Not hard at all to hook up, a little more involved on a tiller outboard but still not bad.

    Bow or Transom Trolling Motor?

Typically a bow mount troller is best angled to one side or the other so it roughly follows the gunnels when stowed and stays out of the way. It'll limit you to getting in and out of one side of the bow, but for the most part is unobtrusive. A 45" shaft would be more than enough on that boat...

Another Dia vs Pitch Prop question

Seems to me that it would be very unwise to buy a prop (an expensive stainless one, no less) four months in advance, without knowing your baseline. If it turns out to be wrong, which it very well could be, you'll be well past the return window and have an expensive doorstop. I'd spend the...

Looking for fuel/oil mix ratio options

You're supposed to install larger jets when you go to premix, with oil mixed in, you're now burning slightly less fuel, means a lean mixture. Very few people actually do, the main jets usually have enough margin to not cause an issue, and it's a very small change anyway. Sounds more to me like...

Monark Boat Purchase Possible Corrosion Pics

I find it a little peculiar that there are no pictures of the port side. Makes you wonder if they're hiding something. I also find the contour of the blistering or whatever to be a little odd. Almost makes me think the boat had a cover, and what we're seeing on the side is just mildew/mold...

Looking for fuel/oil mix ratio options

There's a whole lot of other motors that will happily idle for hours on 50:1 so that's not likely to be causing your issue. That and the fact that no outboard has been hurt from too much lubrication should be reason enough to not fool around with leaner ratios.

    Tracker V16 motor height

Diameter will increase some as the pitch decreases, the blades are angled less. Newer Mercs do have all electric pumps, it is not much better. High pressure electric pumps are not good at drawing fuel, so you have a low pressure pump to lift fuel and another that pressurizes fuel to the rail...

1 or 2 Batts for Starting and House?

I have always ran Everstart 29DCs and had excellent luck with them both for starting and trolling use.

    Tracker V16 motor height

Assuming that has a 90hp max like the current V16 WT models, it'll be hard to get much out of it at less than half of max HP. A little less prop might help.

1 or 2 Batts for Starting and House?

I think you will be just fine with the single group 31, especially since you have an outboard with enough charging capacity to top it up pretty quickly. House batteries come in handy for multi-day trips, or for those like to fish all night, running lights and such constantly. For most it is a...

    Battery Boxes OR Trays?

Trays with a buckle strap is what I prefer. Easier to install/remove them, and they allow you to place the battery in places where you wouldn't be able to lift them out of a box. Pop rivets will hold the trays down just fine.

    Safety Safety Safety

This is the way to do it. If there's a dock, I will hop out once the boat floats off and tie it to the dock rather than beaching it. First time I did it, I pulled away a little too fast and the rope slingshotted the boat into the trailer. Lost a tail light. Perfection takes time. 😄

    Reshape and Balance Propeller?

Those failures tend to snowball. Prop seal leaks, lower unit fills with water, bearings fail, then all of the gear clearances are out of whack and chew themselves up. BTDT when I put a thrust washer in the wrong place on a 25hp OMC and turned the lower unit into scrap metal through the course...

    Testing lifepo4 12v

Most "load testers" are testing for cranking amps, which is a mostly useless metric for deep cycle batteries, and the BMS will likely prevent you from doing one anyway. Fuzzygrub has outlined the best way to test their capacity. A couple of headlight bulbs and some way to measure DC current...

    Safety Safety Safety

That's another upside to a tongue extension if your situation allows it. Keeps the tow rig further away from the water. People look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them the best fishing is from Thanksgiving to early April, but they will not change my mind. Hardly any boats out and the fishing...

    Trolling Motor Electrical Connections

Nothing I can really add. There's a lot of ways to skin that cat and everything that's been said is a fine option. I would prefer the crimp style butt connectors like you listed over the screw type (since you have a good crimper) but either will do the job just fine.

Preferred battery Chargers for LifePO Batteries?

Another vote for Noco. I have the Gen 5x3, 2 40ah for the trolling motor and one 12ah for electronics, all lithium.
