Boat ID help - First post ever!

Nice price. Not that big a rehab to get it fully functional and let you play a lot before you commit to a multi-million dollar rehab. =D> =D>

Where does everyone get their project boats?

I look and sell on the Fall and Spring Craig's list, when folks are looking at storage space and the old boats they don't use, or when then think the world is alive with potential customers. Get all the accessories you see when you are buying, even if you don't see an immediate need for them...

Has anyone used an underwater drone to fish?

U.S. Navy has a couple of versions, this one just debuted in May of this year: https://www.thedefensepost.com/2022/05/10/us-navy-orca-submarine/ Then, we got: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/39700/the-u-s-navys-submarine-launched-aerial-drone-capacity-is-set-to-greatly-expand and...

    Teardrop camper

Great allowances must be made when two different cultures meet---I think that is a quote from DUNE by Frank Herbert. I really kinda of like the rustic home-made trailer, but I'm old and a little...er...let's call it eccentric.   I think the washtub wheel wells are...

Has anyone used an underwater drone to fish?

Just occurred to me that a drone would be another electronic fish-finder for serious fisherman. Did a google search (attached) and it seems there are drones designed for this. Has anyone had any experience with them? Are they too high-tech to be considered sporting...

    Teardrop camper

They'd be perfect for me, if I was still in my 20's or 30's and limber. Now I just wish I was and know that minimalist stuff is fine, but my body's sense of what is "minimal" has escalated a little bit. Why, I could make one at home and save a bundle !!!

    Boarding Ladders (from water)?

From a TINBOATS search: https://tinboats.net/forum/search.php?keywords=boarding+ladder The first seven or so posts are from this thread, but back in 2020 there was additional discussions...and then...back for seven pages of posts for you to review. Best wishes.

    Boat cover

You might check and see if there is a semi-truck cover manufacturer around you. Might not be a huge operation, but all those flatbed and open bodies trailer demand extremely well-crafted covers...usually a rubberized canvas. Best Wishes.

    Picanha on the rotisserie

Looks delicious... and, of course I had to look it up: Picanha is a cut of beef first made popular in Brazil, and later adopted in Portugal. In the United States, the cut is little known and often named top sirloin cap, rump cover, rump cap, or culotte (french). Instead, North American...

    New boat owner - 1975 Valco 13ft

JNicols? As I wrote, there were screw holes through the hull, into the hull, through the transom and into and through the hull wall and then into the facing board. They followed no rhyme nor reason, and were varying diameters. I was told this boat made annual trips to Canada for a couple of...

    New boat owner - 1975 Valco 13ft

My Alumacraft Model F was like that. It is a 1959 and was well-used long before I got it. I used JB weld seven or eight years ago and have not had any problem with it since. You might check the link below my signature on this post and see if any other issues I had are similar to those you are...

    Boat seats

Don't know how big an area you want to clean, but the first thought I had was to use GOOP or Orange Stuff...both work fine on hands that are begrimed. Turpentine? Paint thinner? Shouldn't be too challenging to find something. Best wishes.

    Longer Aluminum Boats

I'm sure you've thought of this, but have you considered exploring some of the boat makers that supply the swamp boats featured in SWAMP PEOPLE? As I'm picturing your desired creation, it seems to sort of fit into the long jon-ish, semi-v=ish, heavy duty, take=a=lot=of=abuse craft that they use...

Extend Tongue Forward or Bunks Back?

This is going to sound kinda of dumb, but then, I am kinda dumb, so...it figures. But would it be feasible to weld straps on top, bottom, and both sides instead of trying to find the correct inside dimensions? Any good welder would find that simple to do, and some could even make it look...
