    Help with atypical motor setup

I'll try to remind myself to measure it when I get home. Beam is right around 100", I know that.

    Help with atypical motor setup

My Sylvan has an aftermarket swim platform. It just gets bolted on. I love it, don't think I can own a boat without one anymore.

Where are you purchasing your new Trolling Motors?

I love using the head unit to control my Ulterra. It's a little cumbersome at first but once you get used to it it's awesome. I agree Still Afloat, the I-Pilot remote is too heavy to have around my neck all the time.

    Rivet Gun

One of the best tools I never knew I needed was my Milwaukee M12 Rivet gun. I have an air powered one as well and have for years but the bonus of the cordless is it's small physical size. Can get the tool in many more places.

    Down the Humminbird Aby$$

Mega Live! I assume you ice fish, Kevin? You'll love it for that.

Where are you purchasing your new Trolling Motors?

My 36v Ulterra was over $3k. I chose to buy from my local dealer/marina who I am on a first name basis with. They were slightly better than Johnson Outdoors MSRP and that was good enough for me. I didn't require any warranty work within the 1 year but if I had I knew they would take care of me...

    More Fun!!! Bent Prop Shaft

I just did this job on a buddies 25HP Merc. New output shaft cost about $150, and I bet on a 90 it would be a lot more. I have also bent them back with success using the same method you did. On a 90hp you will know pretty quick if it has any excessive vibration. If there is immediately stop use...

Plastic Boat? Would you buy one?

Kayaks are hard enough to get in and out of. The only kayak I'd ever own is a nice sit on top with a chair system like a Hobie. And as a plus sized American, I'm not owning one of them either.

Newbie Dilemma: Electric or Manual Downrigger? Need Your Expertise!

Haha, yup, full hijack. Apologize I am bad at that.

Newbie Dilemma: Electric or Manual Downrigger? Need Your Expertise!

I use those snubbers as well, yes they make it easy to grab. What releases do you use and do you ever stack them? I'm wondering how my Chamberlain stacker releases will grip on braid. Is the 150lb similar in diameter to the stainless cable? I'm almost always running stackers.

    Transducer kicking up spray

I will try to remind myself to get a few this weekend.

Can the trolling motor MOTOR be removed to shorten the shaft?

All three of the Minn Kota motors I've worked on had spade connectors at the head under shrink wrap including my 2019 build 36v Ulterra. I don't know what year your Endura is but I just looked at the 'fiche for a '19 to '23 and it appears to be the same.

    Transducer kicking up spray

I had that issue with my Helix ducer and used a small piece of aluminum L angle mounted above to stop any spray hitting the motor.

Newbie Dilemma: Electric or Manual Downrigger? Need Your Expertise!

I got the same exact setup except I'm using 10lb weights. I use Scotty retrievers and usually boomed fully and still get a whole bunch of wire noise. I'll have to try 12# weights and see if that stops it.

    No one ice fishing?

Getting close, skim ice on ponds in Southern NH this morning!

Newbie Dilemma: Electric or Manual Downrigger? Need Your Expertise!

I've been considering trying braid simply because the stainless is getting so expensive. Not like braid is cheap either but it's less than the 300' spools of stainless I have been buying. What test do you use? And is it easy to grab with your hands? And does it really eliminate all the hum or...

Newbie Dilemma: Electric or Manual Downrigger? Need Your Expertise!

I don't but I carry a spool of cable with me. And no longer will I leave a small fray for ANY amount of time. Last year that burned me bad when I saw a small fray but decided to keep fishing with it and change it after the day was done. Lost the ball, snubber, release and flasher not to mention...

Newbie Dilemma: Electric or Manual Downrigger? Need Your Expertise!

We have almost the exact same progression right down to the models! Although technically mine are the 1116's- just different mounts. In my opinion power riggers are one of those rare items that actually equate to putting more fish in the boat. Reason being that I will change presentations much...

    Winter battery storage

I used to pull all my batteries (my boat has 5 of them, 3 group 31's and two group 27's) and bring them inside the garage, but I don't bother anymore. It's way too much work. Now I just disconnect the starting and house battery because I've had my bilge pump stick on and kill the battery. I will...

Trolling Motor Selection - Volts, Thrust, and Shaft length

Minn Kota does the same thing, at least my 2019 Ulterra does.
