I'm not terribly surprised. The bottom of my hull is rough so the friction is high on calm water. With small chop, you have less wetted surface and therefore a lot less total hull friction. I can only imagine what a new hull or Gator Glide would do for my speed. I'm just using the GPS...

Update: 10/8/24: Removed some waterlogged decking off of the front of the boat and shifted a few items around along the boat for heat distribution. The rig hits 30 mph and stays there on glass. On chop, with some careful leaning and adjusting height, it hits 32mph and stays there. Final WOT RPM...

Surprisingly I’ve seen 1448s get within 1-2mph with a 11 pitch so you won’t be losing much.

1436 Tracker, minimal decking, On the Fly Jack Plate. I’m between 6200 and 6250 with the 11 pitch at 29mph and 6000-6050 at 32 mph with the 12 pitch

I’m currently using the solas 9.25x12 on my converted DF9.9 to 20HP. I’m getting 29mph on glass and about 32 on chop. If you’re loaded with passengers, I would recommend the 11 pitch.

UPDATE: Changed to Solas 9.25X12. WOT brings you 29MPH on glass, 30mph on chop. Hit 30 a few times but the river was busy. WOT RPM is right a 5850-5900 which is pretty hard on the motor full throttle. This setup is pretty much at the limit with all the drag on the hull with the motor jacked up...

Just like the title. Looking for a 2-stroke Yamaha 30hp from 1987-1999. Manual/electric start doesn't matter but would prefer manual tilt/trim. As long as it's been serviced and has decent compression. Local to IL/WI is preferred but willing to travel in the upper Midwest to pick up.

Might have some interest in the motor. Are you willing to part with it separately?
