    Need advice Lowe Husky 1960M

If you’re contemplating selling it, do it NOW! Before you put more money into, that you won’t get back. For what it’s worth, that boat looks like a great template to work with, lots of room! For engine parts, your local dealer, boats.net, Marineengine.com. For new engine pricing, figure $120...

Looking to purchase a new Truck....what have you purchased?

For a half ton- Nissan Titan. 5.6 V8 (naturally aspirated), 9 speed transmission. For a true heavy half, Nissan Titan XD. Same engine and transmission. The only true heavy half on the market. It’s built on a heavier frame, bigger brakes, heavier suspension. Get the XD if you go the slide in...

    Old Aluminum Airstream Campers

Haven’t worked on an airstream, have worked on a 2018 keystone bullet. Build “quality”, is not in their vocabulary. Which, was one of the reasons we sold it. Did browse the airstream forum, saw similar issues with them as well. Just like boats, manufacturers trying to save money, which costs...

Removing Boat to Work on Trailer

Buy an extra automatic bilge pump. Ask the property owner if you can run an extension cord to keep battery charged. Pay them something for this, a little goes a long way. Even just the gesture of such.

    Prevalence of "Electric Only" Lakes?

The argument of horsepower restrictions to control erosion are somewhat false as well. Wind “damage or erosion” is 24/7, it does more damage than the boats do. Home lake is 500 acres, 50hp limit. Was a 10hp, then 25hp, now 50hp. Politics got it to 50hp. This lakes primary use is for water...

Removing Boat to Work on Trailer

For a cherry picker, look at harbor freight. I used one of these to pick a tower of power(not near as nice looking as yours though!), then the boat. I did make a frame for the boat, split it in half, used a chain hoist. Here’s a link -...

    Do any of you know?

Fresh cab, good stuff. I keep a bag by each side of our garage doors, in the boat, any openings in the shed, in the travel trailer (when we had one). No issues since I started using it. It does have a “forest” odor to it, However, I like it.

    16 foot jon boat conversion.

What randaln said! You need some knee braces, at a minimum, corner gussets would help as well. Good idea for threaded rod. Looks like a great blank canvas to work with!

Lithium battery - worth the expense?

It’s looking like lithium will be in my boat when the current (pun intended !)SLA’s give up the ghost. At work we feed chlorine gas. 2 years ago it was $.29 per pound. Now, it’s back down to a $1.04 per pound, had a high of $1.12 per pound.

Lithium battery - worth the expense?

Following this question/issue. Mainly for reduced weight. Currently have two 27 series lead acid. That’s a considerable amount of extra weight, in a 14’ v - bottom! Good information in this thread!

    Bunk boards for fiberglass hull?

Gatorbacks. Boat Bunk Cover Company | Claremont, MN & Vonore, TN | Gatorbak . I put these on my previous boat, a glass boat. Great product. Allows the bottom of the boat, in contact with the bunks, to dry out. Bottom of bunk boards is open, allowing the boards to dry out MUCH quicker. Made...

    Help

The above people are trying to help you. I have a 5x10 tilt utility trailer. From the factory, the axle was too far forward. It tilted like a dream, however, I couldn’t go over 53mph without it going line to line, with any weight on it. I moved the axle to the rear some, can now haul whatever I...

    Life jackets/PFD

For comfort and convenience, an inflatable. For reliability, a traditional vest. My concerns are - “If” it doesn’t inflate when needed, then a traditional vest, hands down. - As mentioned above, get a spare CO2 cylinder/rearming kit. Why? On one trip, got to the lake, opened storage box vest...

    Trailer upgrades……

Goes direct on the wood. On a previous boat, I used (idea from this site, might have been mentioned on this thread) pvc 4x4 post sleeve. Rip it in half, each half on a bunk. Boat goes on/off much easier. That project is on my list for current boat. It has carpeted bunks, it’s completely...
