    NJ Drones

Heard that one plus a chemical weapon one. When I lived in the Hudson Valley, in the 80's, there was a group of single engine airplane owners, who were flying in unique formation, at night, to create a UFO hysteria.

    NJ Drones

Last week my son called me and said that a "car size" drone had crashed not far from him. It was trending on social media. Turned out to be a car accident. He did video one near Home Depot on Friday night. To me, looks like a standard hobbiest quadcopter. On Saturday evening...

    New impeller not pumping water?

I don't see why not. Seems like a good test to me. You should get plenty of water running out the thermostat housing. Not sure if there is a way, but might try back flushing before that. It might drive the pieces deeper into other cavities.

    New impeller not pumping water?

A good number of years ago, had a 1977 35HP Johnson. It died prematurely, due to an earlier life in salt water. My memory from working on it is quite faded. I do believe there was a rubber grommet that the copper pipe fits into. Finding a full schematic for your motor should tell you for...

Reels in our lives or collections

I have an old baitcaster and fly reels from my grandfather. Both displayed at camp, along with a small case of his lures.

    Buy now or pay later?

Well, my last purchase to beat a tarrif on LiFePO4 batteries, which prices just seamed to decrease, since then. Boat wise, I was looking to add hydraulic steering to the pontoon. I was investigating a vevor system which is chinese, but will more likely go with the Seastar, but...

    9.9 not exciting enough 😂

FWIW: On our '67, there was not any foam under the bench seats. Only under the plywood floor.

    Trolling motor experience

Sounds like you have an old cable steer on your crestliner. Somebody probably knows the ins and outs of adjusting and fxing those. The mainstream trolling motors can't price compete with the Chinese Haswing and Water Snake. I haven't seen much in "real" world reviews on them.

    9.9 not exciting enough 😂

Our 1967 Starcraft Mariner can take upto 40HP, but given the short shaft transom, I'd guess that the max on yours is 25HP.

Are brushless trolling motors that much better?

Thx. Clever putting a compass in the remote.

Black Friday itch to purchase a second/bow Fish Finder!!

If your Terrova has an internal transducer, probably will only work with the HB. It may be able to network to it, as well. Otherwise, both will require mounting to the bottom of the trolling motor, which can be a pain managing the cables. If the new Lowrance is compatable with the existing...

How to Approach a Project in steps

Doesn't sound like much floor space will be lost with the catwalks. Only hydroturf the future floor or cut and remove at phase 2. Ribs can be marked to attach to. I wouldn't pull the floor back up. Planning all the future wiring and plumbing for livewell, etc will help phase 2 and beyond.

How to Approach a Project in steps

Not sure what you mean by adding "catwalks". Actual connection of the two decks such that you could walk on them? or just storage side panels? While it will take more planning and anticipation of your future needs, don't see why you couldn't do the subfloor, followed by the deck, deck...

Are brushless trolling motors that much better?

I had a MG W45 from 2012 2008. It was used on our primary river boat, except for last three years which it was a lake boat. Scrubbed allot of rock bottom with it over the years. It died last year. When I opened it, it was from water intrusion. Here is a picture of the brushes. Still allot...

Are brushless trolling motors that much better?

I don't question the lower maint at all. I just haven't had a trolling motor wear out the bushes yet. If they did, I would do the repair. For people that spend every week on the water, might make sense. Tournment guys, for sure. If it was a $500 upcharge or less, then would consider. You...

Anyone here use Vevor hydraulic steering system?

As with many things today, reviews are mixed. Hard to tell the experience of the reviewer. Thats why I was looking for someone on here. Seastar has better reviews and available documentation. Just having a hard time swallowing the cost.

Are brushless trolling motors that much better?

I did a little seaching on the difference between the motor types. Brushless has about 10-15% better efficiency (as MG said above), less electrical noise, and less acoustic noise. The brushless motor itself, should cost less than a brushed one, once production levels match. ie less...

    Good alternative to plywood?

During winter, tarps are closed. On the G3, during the summer, back is open along with the bow for ventilation.
