Anyone try Rhino Liner or LINE-X on an aluminum deck?

I suppose vinyl is possible but, I’m not sure how a guy would wrap the edges. Carpet is a definite no and IMO EVA falls into the same category. I gave up on wood, planning on buying a couple of 1/8” x 48 x 120” sheets of 5052 aluminum when we get a dry day so I can pick it up. That’s why I’m...

Anyone try Rhino Liner or LINE-X on an aluminum deck?

I appreciate that input. I’ve had really good results with professionally applied bedliners on my pickups. Although, I don’t think I want a coat of it that’s an 1/8” thick. No intention of using a do it yourself bedliner type product. I also saw some epoxy based products on the Rhino Liner...

    Matte finish on aluminum?

I’m curious if you found a solution. I have an 18’ Mariner with the same type of corrosion or wear. I’m not sure if it’s a type of salt corrosion or just road damage from little bits of gravel, etc.

Anyone try Rhino Liner or LINE-X on an aluminum deck?

So now that I’m finished with log cabin staining, mowing 10 acres every few weeks and other summer chores I’m ready to get back in the shop to complete some boat projects. I started replacing the deck on the North River last spring and the project failed when the new marine plywood delaminated...

    Can't Get Out!

It has been breezy in Eastern Washington as well. Not 30 or 40 mph but, 10 to 20 with air temp in the low 40s.

Considering a set of Load Guide Posts - Any Rec's?

It sounds like the guide rails just need some improvement. Beveling ends as others mentioned or changing the angle. Here’s the guide rail on mine.

    Solid state marine battery

I think 16.8V is bit hot for VHF marine radios. Most are designed for 13.8V with max of around 15.6 to 15.9V. Humminbird fish finders are good for 10 to 20V so no problem there. Perhaps others are similar.

Suggestion for an affordable trolling motor for kayak fishing

I ran an Ocean Kayak with a factory installed trolling motor for several years. It has a Minnkota 50 with the digital “maximiser” speed control. It push’s the yak along quite well but, you could also sneak around slowly and work the banks. It’s really Anyway 50 ft/motor is plenty. It’s...

    Solid state marine battery

Hi Tom, It’s really great that you reached to the forum to dispel a lot of speculation. The solid state batteries are still quite expensive. I was an early adopter of LiFe PO batteries for marine applications some 15 years ago and the technology wasn’t cheap back then. I paid something like...

    Rectifier- Regulator failure

When I bought my Crestliner/115 Evinrude the charge voltage was around 18 to 20 volts as I recall. A quick CDI regulator replacement solved the issue.

    Electric only power

Or buy LiFePO 100 Amp/hr battery and you won’t need to worry about running out of juice. It we’ll have over twice the capacity of your existing AGM at 1/3 the weight.

    Princecraft Rant - Amarok Recall

I wouldn’t want a bunch of plastic plugs in my boat either. If it’s that big of a problem they should replace your boat. They apparently manufactured a non-compliant boat and now they want to damage your boat to cover their backside. I’m sure their attorneys told them to say nothing other...

    Solid state marine battery

I checked out the website and they are a little short on details. Looks like a fly by night operation to me. In this case I’d take the term “solid state” as a marketing buzzword more than a battery technology. Edit: Retracting the “fly by night” and “marketing buzzword” statements. I stand...

    Flooring Options

Did you find the Coosa overly dusty or fibrous? A friend redecked his boat last winter and he used a material similar to Coosa but, it was factory laminated with a high traction material that looks like vinyl. It came out very nice. As I recall it required support every 16”. How do you...
