    12' Crestliner Rebuild

I've got a 14' long wide hull and I'm carrying over my mantra from the canoe..."If I'm in the boat and it's on the water, my PFD is on...period."

Finding components for maintenance and upgrades

Problem with McMaster is the shipping charges. They have one-way of shipping...Next Day Express. I had a $60 order set up...then backed out when the shipping charge was $40 more....ordered from Fastenal.

    1972 Alumacraft F-9 Lake Master

I know it's been a while - but here and there I've been working on the sub-floor frame. Got the main part of that finished and now I'm cutting and fitting Styrofoam preparatory to doing the pour-foam

    Battery set up question

Ya, i noticed the 'Both' Hooked that way, you'll run the batteries in parallel when switched to 'Both'...this isn't normally an issue as it just adds the current together. But to insure battery safety, you'd want both batteries to be the same. Otherwise, just a 1/2/off switch would work best...

    Battery set up question

Do you want to have the accessories running at the same time you're running the TM from the 'backup' battery? If so - two cables from each of the 2nd battery's posts. One pair goes to the accessory fuse panel, the other to a standard 1/2/off selector switch Cables from the primary TM battery...

    '80s (?) Alumacraft 14' conversion

Welcome - welcome I've got an early 70s Alumacraft that I've torn down and am rebuilding from the keel up. They're good, solid boats. Medicine Lake - not too far from me and a stone's throw from my parents in Golden Valley. Far as the paint - there's always Rust Oleum...

    Oscillating saw for cutting aluminum

Any decent jigsaw with a metal cutting blade should suffice. Place I worked, we cut holes in .080 steel panels that way...aluminum should be a breeze.

    THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU

I haven't watched broadcast or cable TV in years, so I haven't seen those ads. Suffice to say, I just keep the same Medicare plan I've had for the last 5 years...don't even have to do anything but say 'Yes' when they call me asking if I want to re-up.

How Far to save 30 Cents/Gallon

Around here, Cub and Holiday have an agreement. For every $100 you spend at Cub, you get 10 cents/gallon off at Holiday. I don't drive much, so I've usually racked up a 30-40 cent discount by the time I need a fill again. And Holiday's pump-price is the same as all the other stations in the area.

    TM length

In setting up wish-lists for the F-9 I have a question What length shaft should I get for a bow-mounted trolling motor. The plan is to have a small platform at gunwale height to mount it on, but I'm unsure as to how long it should be to insure proper depth of the prop. Anyone who's worked on...

    1972 Alumacraft F-9 Lake Master

There was a short hiatus while the wife was in the hospital...she's home now and I'm getting back to this. Main runs done and once I have the cross-braces in it'll be time to set up for the pour-foam.
