    Mojo's Fiberglass V hull Project

Foam brushes were used to apply paint. Multiple light coats, as per the manufactures directions for dry times and such. I'm impressed with that Interlux paint.

NEW PIC. The bottom paint is almost complete. It will be ready to take to the lake this weekend and test out the motor and put some weight in the boat and move things around to find out where I need to mount batteries, live well and other heavy type stuff.

    Wiring a Switch Panel

Yes... I understand you don't ground the neg side of the battery to the boat like you would ground something to the frame of your car. However the diagrams are still correct and get the point across that I was trying to make, which is place your fuse or your circuit breakers on the positive...

    Wiring a Switch Panel

OK here's a little Circuits 101 for you guys. I don't want to come off sounding like a jerk, but I worked advanced electronics in the Navy for 20 years fixing weapons systems and high power radars so I do know what I'm talking about here. Trip and the Company got it right. It actually does...

    Mojo's Fiberglass V hull Project

I started out using some Pettit paint i got.. but I didn't like it. Since it was so thin I sanded back down to my primer coat and put some interlux on it. Something that was a bit harder and had a better shine. It looks a whole lot better. And i filled in the holes i found with some epoxy...

First coat of Bottom Paint is on the boat. It takes six hours of dry time before i can put on the second. So i'll head back to the garage this afternoon and give her a second coat. Then the plan is to let it cure over night go back tommorow and sand then put on the final coat. It was...

What's the big difference? circuit breakers

I happen to have a Minn Kota dealer brochure from when I got my motor handy. The 2010 Maxxum is listed in 80 and 70 lb thrust. The max amperage draw of the 80 lb motor is 54 amps. So you need to get a breaker that's rated at 60 amps. If you got the 50 then there would be the chance that when...

Hey Guys, Well I got the garage space to work on the boat indoors finally and it's everything I could want.. nice and spacious lighting and power. So i got the boat taken over and set up inside. I got the first coat of primer rolled out today, I'll be letting it dry overnight and i'll mix up...

    Xpress 1546D Makeover... -- SOLD!

I Have to throw out a word of caution to the set up Russ talked about. If you have the light socket strait wired to the battery and are just relying on plugging it in to complete the circuit your one bad wave away from a short circuit. If it's not switched and you don't have an inline fuse...

    14 ft. alumicraft NEW PICS!

Well if you never ever want water to get to it thompsons isn't going to cut it. Coat it up with some marine epoxy. You can get a gallon can for $40 bucks or so. But if you go that route you need to mix it in small batches. A quart will coat that whole sheet of wood once. It will need 3 or...

About your front deck, i think you should just go ahead and deck it all the way back to the front seat. That gives you lots of room under it for storage and you'll also have plenty up top to move around on.. stack tackle boxes.. so on. Only coming out 2-3 feet doesn't give you alot of standing...

Finally got back outside today and got some more work done. It rained cats and dogs Thursday and Friday so nothing got done at all, Saturday I had to go celebrate my Grandmothers 92nd Birthday, so my weekend was pretty much filled up. Got the trailer lights all wired up and heat shrinked...

    Minn Kota I-pilot

I saw that thing, watched a video on it. It's really pimp but I just can't see spending that much money on a trolling motor unless I had a bigger boat. But it is super cool.
