I ran across this today by accident while pricing small outboards. I'm not very up to date on this kind of thing and propane outboards are new to me. I'm wondering what people think about them.

I have this boat with a 25 Merc 4-stroke. I always fish with two people in the boat. The Merc is very slow out of the hole but does get on plane and gets speeds in the upper 20's. I have T&T on my motor. You may have a weight distribution issue.

This is no joke. I once worked on a project where we built a form for casting an architectural element out of two-part foam. We used 2x6's on 12" centers over 3/4" plywood anticipating the pressure created by the foam. On the first casting the pressure blew the form apart. We had to go to 8"...

That's a beautiful boat. Please don't cut it up by putting a jet in it. The lines are beautiful and maybe a vintage outboard would make you feel better about the look of it. There are so few of these things around it would be a shame to alter this one to the point it could never be original...

What's the deal with the crummy paint jobs? I am currently repainting the gunwales of my Tracker grizzly because of the very thin and not durable paint. Is this some cost saving measure at the factory, or that a jon boat, considered as a utility boat, doesn't merit a decent paint job?

I miss mine too and never had one. Lucky thing too :mrgreen:
