1984 bass tracker II, 16ft, with a 1983 merc 40. The boat mechanic said after finishing drilling two holes and inspecting the transom that all the holes looked like new wood on the inside and that their was nothing wrong with the transom. Boat is still at the shop so no pics right now.

Got an old one it she's straight and don't leak, has the original 40 Merc 2 stroke still on it but no tilt/trim. I just bought a CMC pt130 with the clamp on adapters and transom reinforcements. This will give me an additional 6 inch of set back and hang approximately 50 more pounds on the back...
