14ft aluminium boat safe to fish coastal saltwater and bays?

https://boston.craigslist.org/sob/boa/4802153073.html A little bigger than what you are looking for but a great deal down on the cape. Motor alone is worth at least $1500.

    1983 Lund S-14

BTW I think your boat is the S-14 DLX, The "Deluxe" model! https://lundboats.com/pdfs/old-catalogs/1983.pdf

    1983 Lund S-14

Nice looking Lund. Looks like it is in great shape but that console is so out of place. I think it is just way out of scale for the boat. You can probably sell the console and ad it to the new motor fund.

Nice catch, that's a lot of meat!

Do you use the kill switch cord?

I have gotten much better about wearing the inflatable PFD but never ever use the lanyard. Never wear a helmet when I ride my bike. I am what I am I suppose.

Need Your Thoughts - 20hP motor on 16foot

My buddy loves his 14' Fury, his is a tiller. 25mph in my 16' is in perfect conditions with the dog standing in the right place. I can always get it to at least 23.5mph. Combined weight of me and the pup is about 225lbs.

Need Your Thoughts - 20hP motor on 16foot

I think a 20hp would get a 16' on plane without too much problem. I have a 16' Lund with a 25 and my top end is 24-5mph. My buddy has a 14' Fury with a 25hp and it is faster than my rig. It seems like a 20hp on a reasonably light 16' would do 18-20 mph.

    2003 Starcraft Starfire conversion

Cedar is a good choice, its light and very rot resistant. There are a couple threads on here where guys used cedar or cyprus for their decks.

Nice looking project. I assume you are planning to leave the boat in the water and not trailer it?

1970 ish Mirrocraft 14 Deep Fisherman Project

Unless you want to leave it bare aluminum I wouldn't try to remove all the old paint. I would just feather out the scratches and bare spots then prime those with self etch then paint everything you want to paint. Just my opinion but the existing paint has been on there for 40 years so they did...

SeArk 1872 MV delivered this week. Now the fun begins

That's a great looking boat. You must be excited, I know i would be with a spanking new ride!

new project, should I or should I not?

The wood gunnals help hold the boat together. Along with the seats they are integral to its structural integrity. I like the wood, gives it character!

new project, should I or should I not?

Seems like a pretty narrow beam. I would def look for something wider, the other boat seems like a good price.

1970 ish Mirrocraft 14 Deep Fisherman Project

Thanks for the info, I am gonna get one. I just like the idea of having all the power off when the boat is on the trailer. Will keep anyone from leaving anything on or hitting the starter(I have no key).

Nice job, boat is looking good. What is the brand of that battery on/off switch? i would like to put one in my boat but the only ones I have seen are the perko ones that are for 2 batteries.

    Waterproof foam?

I think so but I am not a Jon boat guy so I am not certain. I am sure someone who has done it will chime in.
