    Moving Center Console forward 1ft?

I’m planning on rewiring the entire boat after hunting season. So I think I will move it forward at that time.

    Moving Center Console forward 1ft?

I would need to extend live well plumbing that is part of the console. I removed the starboard side bolts tonight. It definitely comes loose and can be moved forward. However I discovered the hose/pipe for live well doesn’t have any slack. I need some couplings and hose clamps, plus a few feet...

    Moving Center Console forward 1ft?

I have an 1860 and my center console is bolted to two 1.5” angle on each side. Just remove bolts and I can slide the console forward. Besides the steering cable, of which I just happen to need a new one anyway, is there any other potential issues moving the console 1 ft forward? All the other...

How to adjust free play in steering wheel?

Yeah it’s a cable with a spring around it. It actually “looks” good. I have two screws that release the casings. One going in and one coming out. When I grab the cable coming out, hold it, turn wheel with other hand, there is no slack at the wheel. So I’m guessing the cable/spring has stretched...

How to adjust free play in steering wheel?

Not sure, but cable says Ultra Flex US. Says the length etc. Seems to be the Teleflex style. At the helm when I remove the tube protector, the end of cable moves about 4” before the motor starts turning.

That is interesting. I'm going to research the Gheenoes further. Might have to go see one these in person.

Help picking out a jon for backwater exploring

Really appreciate all the feedback fellas. Yeah the 1436 was really light. I'm a big ol' bear, so I was able to drag it and push it pretty easily, once I kicked the motor up out the water. For the overnight stuff, it is never more than 2 people. I've always been able to get all our gear in a...

Help picking out a jon for backwater exploring

A few years ago I inherited a little 1436 Alweld jon boat with a 25hp Merc Tiller. I thought it was going to be perfect for exploring the Atchafalaya Basin, plus all the rivers and bayous in the gulf south area near my south Louisiana home. It was just fine if I was alone. However it was a...
