You would loose less Northerns, but might not catch Walleye. Walleye can be very picky at times. They often lightly mouth bait. Small tick on the line is at times the only indication that they are picking up your bait. They will often spit out the bait is any weight is felt. So lighter tackle is...
Sweet! Still have over 7 weeks until the opener here in MN. Boat comes home from winter storage today. Making live bait rigs already. Will be ready, willing and able come May 11th! (Opener is May 9th but I do not fish on weekends).
And the open water fishing season will be upon us in Minnesota. :D
Starting to get things ready. Making my live bait spinner rigs. I go through several dozen of these each year. As much as a dozen or more in a morning when the Northerns are being extra aggressive.
Arrived home yesterday. Was promptly greeted by my 22 year old Daughter asking if we could take a ride on the new Harley! :D
Anyway, had a great get a way. Plenty of sunshine does allot. New Harley is broken in. Ready for Spring Turkey season. The G3 comes home from winter storage soon. Snow...
Warrington. C.B. West, class of 1979. Joined the Army after HS and haven't lived there since. Way too crowded now a days. All of the farms and woods are gone....
Springfield, MO for the night. Onto LA in the Morning. Will stay there until Tuesday, then head east for Daytona Beach, FL for Bike Week. Ton of salt on the roads in MN and IA, but clear sailing.
Been one heck of a winter this year. I need a break. Some sunshine and warm(er) temps. My Harley Trike is in the Toy Hauler. Saturday I will be on the Gulf Coast in SW Louisiana. Do a bit of riding, fishing and relaxing....
Looks like I will be doing some saltwater fishing next week as long as the weather is OK. :D :D Red Fish and Sea Trout. Never fished for either one. Looking forward to doing a bit different type of fishing.
Oh, btw, I have plug in clothes. I stay toasty warm on cold days. I've ridden here in the past down to 17*. That was the night I decided to buy heated gear. Riding in the 40's now is easy. I can heat my feet, legs, chest and hands as needed..
Thanks Keith, appreciate that.
Depart in 10 days or so (may leave earlier than the 26th.). Looking forward to relaxing in the warmth, visiting some friends and taking a ride on my new Harley.
Thanks. Posted this two weeks ago. Just returned from an all inclusive vacation in the ICU and Hospital. Not fun.
I'm looking more along the line of Salt water.
Tyler, TX. Was there in July 2013 with my Motorcycle Club (we had our big meet there). Nice city. HOT though.
