GoPro Camera - life expectancy ??

Action cameras of some sort are very popular and well utilized in my other (former) hobby of racing motorcycles. 90% of riders with cameras use GoPros. Any of the other cameras seem to have flaws that become evident when they are abused. You have any idea the vibration you get from a motorcycle...

    Where's the bucks?

How often do you shoot that bag with broadheads? That'll ruin it fast.

An Alumacraft 1648 NCS already has a flat tin floor, does it not?

Avoid battery core charge at Wal-mart

So what you're saying is buy the battery online and pick it up in the store?

A lot of people are putting batteries in sealed boxes.......

In a storage compartment under a hatch door? This is normal for most builds, and even factory boats come that way. :-k

    Where's the bucks?

Don't look to me for hunting advise. I'm a noob myself to bowhunting, scouting, aging, calling, etc. I grew up with a rifle in my hand while sitting in a tree. Go boom when you see one. I like to think now that I'm trying to learn how to be a real hunter.

What is a good entry level fish finder?

My first purchase of any type of electronics for fishing use was a Lowrance Hook4 with GPS. On sale at Cabela's plus rebate I think I paid about $85 for it. I like it and it's easy to use, so I bought a Hook5 for the other end of the boat. GPS on the Hook5 and Hook7 add $100 to the price tag...

    AlumaCraft MV 1648 NCS 20 mods/ideas?

That's the exact boat I was planning on upgrading to soon. But then I saw the G3 1652 and it is better set up. But I like the wide open space and wouldn't do much as far as modifications go. Probably cover the decks and floor with hydroturf, and maybe extend the front deck a small bit. It's...

Any use for long shaft 15hp outboard?

2005 Mercury 15hp with electric start - bought new in 2005 by a coworker's dad, and then his dad passed away. The motor has never been started. Coworker is selling 14ft boat (old), new trailer (2005ish) and the outboard, for $2000 as a package, and I can probably get him down lower. Anyway, I am...

    A great web find

I bought trailer hitches for two different cars plus the trailer wiring plug and play for two different cars over the course of a few years. Also ball mounts, coupler locks, and hubs. All from E-Trailer. They have been great every time, for price, service, speedy delivery, and quality.

    Some babble about gear upgrades

I owned lots of the higher end stuff in a previous life. Through a hook-up with discounts on St Croix rods (and reels at the time), my collection was mostly that. I didn't have my reel choice narrowed down to anything in particular at the time, but most of them were $200+, from Shimano, Diawa...

    Wood for Boat Transom

I work in the building material industry so I can relay to you what I know about plywood. The brown pressure treated woods that are on the market simply have a brown temporary finish over the top of the regular pressure treatment. They will often call this process KDAT - Kiln Dried After...

    Central Wisconsin

Lots of fish caught yesterday. Here's 3 of the nicest ones - these are EXCELLENT small-river smallmouth for this area. Had some good walleyes too but they went right into the ice chest (no pictures). A few northerns too.

    Where's the bucks?

Both of these deer trails are less than 20 yds from my tree stand. This is my first year bow hunting. I've rifle hunted most of my life. I have not sat in this bow stand yet due to the unusually warm weather around here - it's been in the upper 80s and 90s in central Wisconsin in September. I...

Outrageous idea? Lightweight floor and decking FOAM

I stripped my boat and began fabricating my new layout. Front will be extended with 1x2s and have a 1x2 "stud wall" with 1.5" foam sheets in the spaces. I can then wrap that wall directly with carpet for my exposed vertical structure. Top support surface will be 3/8" plywood (1x2 structure...

    Pfleuger President reels on sale

UPS brought me the reel, size 30. I spooled on 30lb PowerPro and can't wait to use it! Looking it over and operating it make me strongly desire to upgrade all of my other reels to this new President. And it is very pretty too. I like the slightly deeper color of blue and the abundance of gold...
