What's your favorite boat layout for bass fishing?

1442 NCS is the same boat I have. I would hate having the bench in the middle. A cooler is always on board anyway, so I would always opt for a model that's open in the middle as that cooler works for sitting anyway. My 1442 is electric only now with the pending sale of my 8 hp Merc. It is the...

How to Build a Level Deck for a Jon Boat

You will need some straight boards to lay flat on the 1.5' front deck and have them overhang all the way to the middle bench. You can measure off of that plane down to the bench to establish how much higher your front deck is than your middle one. Then add on from there.

    Pfleuger President reels on sale

It's just the standard version in pink. What's wrong with that? :LOL2:

    Boat carpet question.

That's the exact same carpet I used in my boat 2 years ago. It's great and still great after two hard years. Sent from my SM-G935P using Tapatalk

    Central Wisconsin

We went to Ashland first and stayed right on Chequamegon Bay Lake Superior. Fishing there wasn't any good. Fishing for smallmouth, ended up with a bunch of northerns - one was 36 inches. In Hayward we went to 5 or 6 different lakes in 3 days. Musky fishing was best between 1:00 and 2:00. Was...

    Central Wisconsin

Where I live is about 80 miles from Madison. Where those fish came from is about 120 miles from Madison. I just came from a week-long trip to Hayward, WI - the fishing capital of the world. I'd been to the fishing museum and hall of fame when I was a kid but now checked it out again as a...

Decking question - how much space to allow for carpet?

Hatches you are double thick on all sides. Cut 1/4 off of each side of your hatches. Pretty much 1/8 = 1 layer of carpeting.

    Minn Kota Question

My Endura Max 55 does not do this until the battery gets really worn down. Are you running a deep cycle battery?

    Central Wisconsin

Here's some hogs and a beast from a few of Wisconsin's smallest lakes. Not to give away any secrets, but these are difficult-access lakes with either no boat launches, or small river/stream small boat/canoe access that requires trecherous river travel to get to these lakes. A typical day we'll...

    Who still makes tilt trailers?

Just north of me is cranberry country. Fishing by the bogs more times than not presents a very shallow approach or a sudden drop off into the lake for boat access. No such thing as a launch site. I have not attempted to launch off a steep bank, but the shallow areas work fine as long as I'm with...

    Who still makes tilt trailers?

I can't take a closer look at something that I can't find. Chicago isn't out of the question. I'll check it out. Thanks.

    Who still makes tilt trailers?

How would that be done? There's no such thing as improved ramps where I fish. Often times no ramps at all!

    Who still makes tilt trailers?

I'm wanting my 14 ft jon boat to be on a tilting trailer. I generally fish in no-man's land and find myself launching my boat where the tilt feature would be useful. I've seen old or used boats with tilting trailers under them so they must have been a more popular feature a few decades ago. I...

    Trailer Tire Jack

This is common in the motorcycling community - I know several people who carry these for their trailers and have used them with success.

handeling a small boat at a big boat launch solo

Good and funny thread. :LOL2: Stories about idiots are always entertaining. I live near a tourist area, and a particular scenic lake, which happens to have good fishing which is why I take my boat there on occasion, attracts hundreds of canoes and kayaks a day. There's a full-fledged cement...

Shear pins for outboard - do I need spares?

Thank you all for assuring me that I need to seek them out. I will get some ASAP. So if I ask for some at the marina that services my boat they won't look at me like I'm nuts then?

Shear pins for outboard - do I need spares?

I have an old-timer fishing buddy who has been insisting I need to carry a spare shear pin for my Mercury 8hp outboard. I grew up with boats in the family and had never heard of such a thing. Yes, I know what a shear pin is and what it does, but never heard of people carrying spares for outboard...
