    I did this with our smaller 14 foot boat to help with weight distribution. I used 8 gauge 20 feet long jumper cables which ran me $19.99....follow Minnkotas recommendations on connections and you should be fine.....:)

    Since this is Tinboats and you said riveted hull I assume you are wanting to put this on an aluminum boat. I do believe that the thru hull transducer is only usable on a fiberglass hull.     Plenty of time to rebuild her and still fish....:) If you enjoy working on things, then rebuild her to exactly the way you want. You can do it however you like, and end up with a boat exactly how you wanted her. Lots of great ideas listed here in the forums. You will put more money than that...
