    Any NC Clubs???

I will get you the websites for the clubs this afternoon. Joining is pretty easy, mostly just show up and fish :D I got a buddy in Angier who is in need of a partner (if he has not got one yet) if you would like to try it out.

Apparently I had the wrong understanding.

I am pretty new here and I have not jumped in with both feet all over the board except maybe this area because from what I have read in other sections you guys are a whole heck of a lot smarter than I am about fixing up boats, motors and trailers and all sorts of stuff. Best keep quiet or else...

    Any NC Clubs???

There are several electric only clubs and one 60hp and less club in NC. The 60 hp and under club is out of Burlington. The electric clubs are from Sanford, Robbins, and Raleigh. What kind are you interested in? We got a young fellow from Kinston who fishes an electric jon boat club with us...

    New National Classic

I have started or been a part of starting 5 clubs over the years and the number one member killer is a whole bunch of rules. Had to start a new club this year because my old club had got to where they had 2 pages of rules  . They got to arguing about somebody fishing somebody else's spot...

I am not sure what I mean at this point #-o . I would like to see all boats, electric and gas to get together. I dont think we need a whole bunch of stupid rules. Let the gas guys fish together and the electric guys fish together. I would like to see it done at a location where maybe Saturday...

    New National Classic

I'll fish both days out of my electric only boat. Is that going to be ok?

As I said in the other posts, I want to see an electric only event. I dont know what anybody said to get the ECB boys in a wad? The ECB is not the only standard for what is or is not a jon boat club. The other clubs in the jon boat sport have other rules and guidelines they go by and should be...

The speed of the boat has nothing to do with catching fish. I know people that have won bass boat tournaments out of a jon boat with only trolling motors. So I would say there is no difference between a 100# and 30# thrust motor. I got outboard motors for my boat and fish tournaments with it...

In the clubs here in NC about half of our guys have boats in the 15'-16' range. We have very few electric only lakes so we have to share the lakes with boats many times bigger and the guys feel safer in the bigger jon boats. Would it be fair to exclude them from fishing? It is still powered by...

I wish there was a way for non-affiliated boats could join in, but if not its not going to be a big problem for me. You can count on NC to send boats for this event. We got some sponsers that I am sure would like to help out on this. I am the president of the Jon Boat Championship club and...

Good to talk with you ebcdave :D . I agree that rules should be in place to keep a somewhat level playing field. I just hate to see jon boaters that are not part of a club, whether there is not a club in the area, or just begining, or whatever, not be allowed to fish. These boats are the ones...

How about a tournament? Maybe we could get boats from all over to meet in a central area and fish? It doesn't have to be many to start with but I am sure as time goes it will get bigger every year. I know there are a lot of clubs in Ohio, Virginia, NC, and Ga. Who knows how many individuals that...

It's jon boat season in NC

This weekend (2-20/21) starts off the season for 2 jon boat clubs. The Shallow River club starts Saturday at Lake Lucas and the JBFC (Jon Boat Fishing Club) starts Sunday at Beaver Dam Lake. Next week, (2-28) the Jon Boat Championship club starts at Beaver Dam, and the week after that the...

    Tips for starting a club.

Hey Redbug, I remember you from the old Fishin Fanatic's board. Long time no see :D I sure agree with what you said about getting and keeping new members. Most everybody just wants to learn from other club members, meet new people and have fun in a club. What is it going to hurt to give a...

Looking for jon boat clubs in NC/SC

Jon boats clubs are a lot of fun to fish. You know a few more guys up that way that would be interested? The closest club to you that I know of fishes lakes around Asheboro. That still is a pretty good ride.

Looking for jon boat clubs in NC/SC

I fish the Cape Fear, Jordan, Harris, Tillery, most all the lakes and rivers around the middle of the state. You fish the Cape Fear at Avents Ferry on Hwy 42?

Looking for jon boat clubs in NC/SC

I am new to the board and I am an addict too. :D I love my jon boat more tham my wife, and she is fine with that. I fish three electric only jon boat clubs here in NC and I am involved with starting another this year. I am always on the look-out for other clubs in or around NC to fish. If...
