How cold was the water you were in. On a warm humid day in cold water the condensation on the motor will be noticeable.

I know a guy who has 2 fiberglass boats in his yard. Buried almost to the gunnels , full of dirt and flowers. Looks pretty good in his yard.

Take a look under the engine cowl.I think you will find its an air cooled engine. You are correct in saying the water pump only pumps thru the exhaust. This helps to cool the exhaust and the unit overall. Back in the day, 60s and 70s , clinton built a lot of these little outboards and chrysler...

Maybe this outboard is a franken/rude/johnny. If it is, so what? It looks good, parts are available everywhere, just have to use the actual part for numbering or matchup. Not as handy as an actual parts list but doable. Thankfully OMC 's have part numbers on practically everything and they will...
