I have a 2018 20 hp Tahatsu and I belive the idle rpm is 950? Top rpm if propped right is 5800 to 6000. I haven't looked in the owners book lately and just going from memory but pretty sure on the idle rpm. I wanted to slow mine down a bit for trolling and found that with the efi I couldn't do it.

I will give that a try! Our dealers dont even want to work on anything over ten years old but maybe there parts dept could help me out that way. Worth a shot anyway. Other ideas welcomed.

The part the recoil rope on my 8 hp broke on the bottom, the part that hooks on the spring that the rope wraps around. Cant find the part as it is listed as no longer available on boats.net and marine engines.com and ebay doesnt have one at the moment. Any one have a idea who might carry this...

Just picked up what appears to have very little use 1985 Johnson 8 hp j8rocb. There is a sticker by the fuel connection that has a 100/1 mix. Seems I seen that I should remove that sticker and mix at 50/1?

Actually no. The 1976 calls for a Champion UL81J, the 1978 calls for a Champion L78V and the 1981 calls for a L77J4 so they are all a different plug!

Put new Champions in again. All is good!

How about running the Champion UL81C in all 3 then? Being as the NGK would work in all 3 How about the Champion in all 3? The 1976 is still points but the other 2 are electronic ignition. Not a big deal to have to buy a couple kinds of plugs but it would be easier to just get one type.
