    Keeping the tin company.....

I have a 12' perception pescador. It's very similar to the older tarpon 120's. Haven't fished much in the last year or so because I was in paramedic school, but prior to that, I'd fish my yak more than my tin just because it was more simple, cheaper and I usually caught more fish. The river...

    Been awhile...New/Old Boat?

If it has a title for the trailer and boat, and the boat doesn't need many repairs, why not? No title for one or the other, don't walk, RUN from the deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looking 'up' ... from the water anyway ....

Fished a local lake about a month ago. Water temp was 96 and air temp was right at 100! I love Texas but sometime it's just too hot to fish Like the boat! Looks like a nice rig. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    ,40 HP Johnson oil injection

VRO pumps are notorious for going out/not supplying enough oil and burning up the power head. VRO had been removed on my Johnson. I mix oil in the gas. Much simpler that way. If you want to see if it's working, mark the level on the tank with a sharpie and then run it for a while, then recheck...

First time boat owner - 1236 Alumacraft Jon -

Looks good! Simple and efficient. I like it. On my last build I used carpet and I didn't care for it. It was hard to keep clean and hooks kept getting caught in it when I laid down the rods. I'd look at hydroturf or other similar product. On my current boat, everything is aluminum (factory...

    Lower unit damage

Prop was trashed. I've already replaced it. The gears felt fine in the lower unit. I ran the boat this morning and it ran fine. It handled like there was no damage at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nice boat! Where did you end up mounting the transducer for the new fish finder a few pages back? Transom mount? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    14 ft Sears jon boat

I used carpet on a previous build I did and found that I didn't like it. Hooks got caught in it and it's a pain to get the slime, mud, etc off of it. My current boat has a large front casting deck and rear seat. I'm thinking I might cover them with hydro turf. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Johnson 50 linkage and control box

I have an 89 Johnson 50 hp with electric start and power tilt. The control box is shot and the shift and throttle cables need to be replaced. Is there an aftermarket box that will work on this motor or is it best to just rebuild the box with replacement parts from evinrude? Has anybody...

    Installing/adding a Tunnel

I think I would buy a tunnel instead of adding it. The tunnel needs to be designed properly to "pack" the water around the prop.

    New tin boat at work.

So far so good with them. I really like how quiet they are. The factory rep says they get a little better performance out of mercurys in the same size but not much. The best I've seen her do is 43mph and that's with 10 people on the boat lol. The lake was slick as glass though. It runs 40...

    New tin boat at work.

Thanks y'all. We've been training on her every shift. The boat has already been used on two calls so far, picking injured folks up from the lake and transporting them to the boat ramp to a waiting ambulance.

    New tin boat at work.

Folks around here call those things cockroaches lol There are times when I'd love to do that but 1500 GPM could really hurt someone lol

    New tin boat at work.

Well we got us a little tin boat at work. The purpose for the boat is fire suppression and victim rescue. It's running side scan/ down scan sonar, radar, and FLIR. It's pushed by twin 250hp Honda's and has 5.7L chevy pushing 300 hp to run the 1500 GPM fire pump. See below for pics and a link...

    Fishing in San Antonio

Canyon Lake can be tough to fish at times. You need a good graph to find the drop offs and such. There is not much cover in the traditional sense ie Lilly pads, boat docks, ect. I usually prefer to go to lake Dunlap in new braunfels or lake placid in Seguin. I've never fished any of the San...
