I am looking for a tiller I can put on my 25hp mercury 2 stoke , the motor is electric start , and is set up for remote steering , I would like to convert it to tiller, if anyone has a parts motor with some of the parts let me know. Thanks

I will def need a jack plate, a tiller conversion is around 500 bucks does this sound right ? , and is the conversion something I could take off a blown motor mercury 25hp and bolt right on or is it a little more complicated than that?

ok cool great advice, I always try to take good care of my stuff and will definitely keep that in mind when I get one. It will most likely be stored in my back yard so I will try to make some sort of cover for it tarp and pvc or what not.

are you only considering new motors? Where I live you can pick up a 2005 or so Yamaha 25hp for around 2000-2500 bucks

it could be the transducer because the screen turns on and seems to function fine, but says no transducer I don't know if im willing to spend 53 bucks when the whole kit new is 79, but great option thanks , I was thinking something up to $150

I decked my 1436 and am very glad I did , it took a little getting use to maybe 2 trips and now I can maneuver great on it I would prefer to be on the deck than on the floor . here are some pics

I have a 15hp 4 stroke on a 1436, and there is plenty of times I wish I had more power, if I was you I would look for a nice 25hp.

My garmin echo 100 wont read the transducer anymore, so I am in search of a good cheap depth finder with fish finder. Also is there anything at a good price with GPS also , I do some night fishing and think that would help in the twisty marsh.

Sorry I don't have any help for you, but I own a 2004 mercury 15hp 4 stroke, and would be curious if I could do this same thing? , maybe the extra 250rpms is to much strain for the motor. ?? somebody has to know about this..

I have a 1436 with deck on front and back, I am 200lb my motor is 112lbs, I have a 6 gallon gas tank and battery in the back with me. Do you think a hydrofoil would help me plane faster and at lower speeds, motor is a 4 stroke 15hp mercury. thanks
