    9.9 not exciting enough 😂

Not gonna get much from the 9.9 on a 14' ....Moving up to a 15 will make a noticeable difference until you get an extra passenger or two, then back to where you are now. If your looking for performance with a passenger or even two, go with a 25 hp on a tiller steering type. If you add a side...

    9.9 not exciting enough 😂

Before doing anything, I would get some flotation back in the boat ! As far as a motor goes....how much weight do you plan on carrying ? As you have read, staying light can make the boat squirrely, but adding an extra passenger and gear stabilizes the ride. I you are your only passenger then...

    9.9 not exciting enough 😂

Usually under the seats, you mentioned the seats were just boards, so is their flotation ?

What is the max HP rating on the hull ? Years back my 14' Starcraft had a 35 hp rating on it. A 25 up did very well, but if you want to fly, go for the max rated hp.

What have you been up to lately?

Been giving the south some consideration, can't say I am a fan of 100 degree summers either. Wife has serious allergies and the high heat and humidity make them worse. Unfortunately she prefers the cold even though she rarely goes out in it. Trying to figure a happy medium.....off n thought...

What have you been up to lately?

My neighbor has 20 rental homes and often tells about the issues he has. When people leave they take everything, even the kitchen sink ! He has toilets sitting in one of his barns, he says he replaces about 2-3 toilets every month....they are smashed....how does anyone smash a toilet ? Smoke...

    Transome outboard plate material

Wood was primarily used because it was cheap, but back in the day many motors used clamps rather than bolted thru. If your using a clamp type motor the wood gives the clamps something to bite into, where the synthetic material would be somewhat slippery. If your bolting the engine on, then it...

Are brushless trolling motors that much better?

Can only reference my brushless experience in my R/C cars. When compared to brushed motors, the brushless motors are far more efficient, less heat buildup and use less power to gain more rpm ( power).. Brushless motors are more costly to make due to the electronics needed to control the speed...

    Good alternative to plywood?

My boat sits in a barn when not in use, so that helps the plywood to last longer, much longer !! Another thing to do is when I get home with wet carpet/ floors and decks is to put a fan on the boat to quickly dry everything. A fellow that works for a restoration company told me that the...

    Wood or Aluminum

Worse case is, both wood and metal can be hard and uncomfortable to sit on. Wood needs upkeep and metal gets really hot in summer sun. Consider making a nice padded cover for the seats that can be snapped in place. Now wood finnish and hot metals are not a problem and your butt will thank you !!

    Good alternative to plywood?

Why the worry about plywood ? My boat is a 1992 and floor still very solid all out of plywood. After 32 years, you probably won't even own this boat any longer. If your boat is properly stored, a plywood floor will outlast you !!

    Aluminum or Wood

Have you ever touched aluminum after sitting in the sun for a couple hours ? I have many times, serious burns and raised blisters !! Once my kids touched it by accident, that was the end of bare metal.. If covered with cushions then you should be good.

Powering your home during power outages

Everything became much more expensive after the covid crap, in many cases double the cost. Just had a new roof installed on my barn, quoted 5500 back in 2021, today was 9600 !!

    Aluminum or Wood

Consider the pro's and con's......wood looks better to some, metal gets hot in the sun but doesn't have to be painted. Etc...etc...your boat, your call....

    Hey y’all from Alabama

Running an engine over the boats rated HP is a serious liability on your part. Insurance company won't cover it, and any accident you might be involved in makes it your fault from negligence on overpowering !! How big a gambler are you ?

    Censorship

Could have easily stated that " due to having this turn into a political case, we will not allow anymore posts to this posting" To just openly call those pics a political statement is not right. I do respect the owners right to decide whatever they wish and I with thus site the best, however...
