Curious if anyone knows if the Endura Max lowest speed is slower than a 5 speed trolling motors 1st speed. The 5 speed Minn Kota trolling motor I have (45 Lb. thrust) on my 14 ft. jon boat is just a little to fast in 1st speed for my liking and wondering if the variable speed is slower in 1st speed.

Gotta get a new deep cycle battery and charger. I'll probably go with a Wal-Mart Everstart battery but what chargers have you guys had good luck with and which ones would you stay away from? The Minn Kota gets pretty good reviews.

Just got my new boat, Alumacraft 1442 NCS, and a 15 HP 4 stroke and was wondering if you guys used a transom saver on that size motor or if it was necessary.

My decision has pretty much been narrowed to the Alumacraft 1448 MV or the Grizzly 1448. I know the Grizzly is heavier (both weight wise and metal gauge) and more expensive but it does already have the floor installed and the front deck is bigger than the Alumacraft. What are you guys thoughts...
