Ok well I'm trading a 2003 briggs 5horse for a 1985 evinrude 9.9. Just looking for thoughts, comments and concerns about these motors. The only real expensive obvious thing I may have to change looks like the ignition system. Any input would help. Thanks guys

i recently aquired a nice motor and lower unit for free but the main thing missing is the cowling. ive got the motor running but it sure would be nice to have the ol firemans hat lid for this sucker. :D

Wondering if anyone has put a different style fuel pump on one of these older motors I'm just tired of thr check valves contantly clogging I've put two kits in it already
