    Tin boat fly fishing projects?

This is the thread for me! I wish I had seen this a while ago. Sorry to be waking the dead a bit. I have a 1442 with a 25/18 set up with oars. Very similar to TWC4's ( I recognize that rig btw) only super low budget. I figure with the places I run and the rock gardens my water there is a high...

    Jet boats

There are a lot of rhinos by me. Plenty of companies make them. Smaller manufacturers and less brand recognition than say Lowe or G3 and the like.

Pappy, thanks for the link. Cool stuff. I think I've come across them before. Definitely better than the BPS stuff but I'm really am looking to replace the tiller.

Haha! I usually have a similar response to these questions. Some I'll talk about, some I won't.

    Tiller swap question

Sorry if this has been gone over before but I did a few searches and nothing came up. Last season I bought a '96 Evinrude 18 jet. Sweet little motor except a few minor issues. First and foremost is the length of the tiller. Those tiller extensions sold at the store are not the answer. I saw a...

    Boat color?

Find a nice wallpaper and contact cement it in place. Scientifically proven to catch the same amount of fish, just bigger.

    Operation REVIVE!

AF1sgt, that is quite the transformation! I love to see old beaters no one wants turned into serviceable fishing machines. The fish don't care how much a boat costs. I am really fond of your anchor storage too. I might be borrowing that idea if you don't mind.

    Jack plate HP ratings

Johnny, I'm not sure I follow. I'm thinking of buying a jack plate. I plan on fitting a 40hp 2s on this hull. My question is do I need to buy the one that is way over rated for my future motor or do people get by safely oversizing slightly with a lighter weight motor?

    Jack plate HP ratings

Here is was I have. Plans have been made to take her to the welder for some hole filing (why the POs felt need to drill so many holes I will never understand) and an aluminum frame to replace the rotted wood.

    Jack plate HP ratings

Thanks guys. I will post some pics when I get home. The boat is a '84 Lowe prowler pro 15 that I am in the process of stripping down for a rebuild. It is so far without motor. I am looking for a yamaha 40 2s. Max hp is 40 so thats what she'll get.

    Jack plate HP ratings

Question. I'm looking into jackplates for my current project and want opinions. They make smaller JPs rated for outboards rated to 35hp then they jump to 130hp ratings. What do you do 40-50 hp two stroke guys do? I'm sure every insurance agent/ lawyer / risk assessor is cringing now But I find...

No one likes a soggy rear....

Maybe some do, I'm not here to judge. I Started poking around the transom of my eighty something Lowe 1542 the other evening and she's mighty soft in the wood. There are several holes to many through the back of my new jalopy so I'm looking to take her in for some patch welding and new ply in...

    New guy, same old questions

Thanks for the input. I am a simple and clean kinda guy. After cup holders unless it catches fish or helps me move it gets jettisoned. Turns out I missed the window on the yamaha I wanted but I'm still on the prowl. Same guy has a Suzuki 50/35 but Im not getting the same warm fuzzies with that...

    New guy, same old questions

Alright, so I've have been watching these forums for a while now but this is my first post. Bear with me. I just gave away my beloved jon the SwampRooster. 14' gamefisher with a tunnel and a 25 hp prop motor. I know but she floated high and ran, not to mention was a fishy little River boat. Last...
