Fyi, you can likely buy the 56 for about $300 but you will only get about $100 for your 54, as everyone is doing what you are doing or buying two 93's and selling the spare 54. The 56 is a great upgrade to the 54 for detail and finding structure,if that's a need.

Just reporting in that my setup has been working without issue. Used it all last year without issue. I installed my own versa track, so I am going to try a set-up on that. Have a good 2021.

Thanks for the link on adhesives. A question on cutting the carpet to fit (for the aluminum glueing, that can't be removed), is it best to use original as a template and cut accordingly or to do it like in this video? I am assuming the adhesive is placed on the boat already

Think cleats can handle the stress?

So, no worries of stress being put on the cleats? I am fresh watering it, but i have never used a downrigger. I may buy a pair of cleats and mount to the board, so I can still have a rear cleat on each side.
