Here are the pics of the current condition of the StarChief. Areas of major Repair: 1. Transom- wood and port lower section is dented 2. Windshield - Major crack - $400-500- to have a new one made- not an option. Thinking to repair frame, tint. 3. Propeller - blades bent and missing pieces...

"A Diamond in the Rough" 1963 StarCraft StarChief 18'

Hi Marty, No worries about posting from iforms. I did see that many larger tins are on that forum. But I am going to post mine here, I think it meets this forum's criteria and my Lone Star is here as well. Just going to keep it altogether, easier to manage for me. I am just now...

1970 Lonestar 14 Foot Semi V Hull Rebuild

Nah they are Speakers, 8" Pioneers. If I need wind in my face on the boat, I just go for a Cruise. However, that is an interesting idea/concept. Lets say they were fans and had a water cooled from the lake radiator behind them. Now that would give a cool breeze for the guy in the front...

"A Diamond in the Rough" 1963 StarCraft StarChief 18'

After my 4th of July trip to Toledo Bend, I realized a need for a bigger cruising boat for the family. At first I was looking for a larger boat to put my Yamaha 25hp 4-Stroke on, you know maybe a 16 or 18 footer. The idea of having two boat rebuilds was something I was trying to avoid for the...

    "Old Gold" - 1958 Alumacraft Deep C

Wow, that came out very nice! Good to see a wood build on here, I have seen a lot of aluminum decking/framing. I like how it really comes down to the preference of the boat owner. Going to really review your post and learn a few tricks for my builds. Thanks for your hard work!

    19?? Starcraft 14' aluminum build

More room is aways a good thing. Probably could use some aluminum angle to make a rib to hold the middle together. Would keep it open still and if you don't tig weld Bolts and washers would be just fine. You know with the middle open the sides would be a great place for rod storage. Also a long...

    19?? Starcraft 14' aluminum build

That's a good question about the middle. I see three options, cooler, live well, and or seating. Or what about a combo? A ice chest with a live well option, with a padded top for an extra seat. Then on the sides a couple of speakers.

1970 Lonestar 14 Foot Semi V Hull Rebuild

Well the first trip with the rebuilt trailer was excellent no issues at all. The boat did great for its first time in the water with me. The motor worked flawlessly even after sitting in storage for 10 years. Caught a few fish too! Was great time, can't wait for the next trip. I didn't get...

    19?? Starcraft 14' aluminum build

Yes you will, the sides of boat will flap when you hit waves. Need to incorporate that area into your design.
