Saw this on another site. I'm totally doing this if my wife gives me the green light. How fun would this be for a kid!?

    lights question

I have a tester, but I've never really used it before so that will be a learning experience as well. The truck was factory wired with the outlet. I think I will go down the road to the neighbors and see if I can plug into their camper to test the lights. That would at least tell me if problem...

    bass in the Philippines

great pictures! Thanks for sharing. I've always been fascinated by rod & reel fishing in other countries. Would love to drop a line in some foreign lake with no clue what species are in there. Seems like largemouth bass are universal though, huh?

    lights question

I just brought home a new to me truck (Toyota Tacoma) that has a 7-prong outlet. My old truck just had the 4-wire flat connection, So I bought a plug adapter for the boat wires that converts it from 4-flat to a 7-prong plug. When I connect it to the truck, the only lights that work on the...

    took a kid fishing today

Great job! I took my neighbor kid fishing a few times, and he loved it. It was his first time fishing, first time on a boat, and probably the first time hes ever been to a lake or state park of any kind. (his parents are trash) A couple weeks ago, I noticed their cars hadn't been around for...

tip for fishing with a little one

We brought our 9 month old out on my tin for the first time on Fathers Day yesterday. 8) He loves splashing in the bath tub and it was pretty hot, so I took along big plastic storage tub and filled it with a couple inches of water for him to splash around in while I was fishing. It also...

    Chippewa Flowage

I believe the world record muskie is from there? Cool area. I was up a few years ago with family, but there was an algea bloom the weekend we were there and fishing was awful.

Changing the angle on aluminum angle?

Not sure if this will help, but I used small pieces of alum. angle bolted together to create a "foot" that can be adjusted to the angle you need.

1964 johnson 9.5 wont run right with the cover on it

I had an early 70's Johnson 9.5 that the previous owner had drilled all sorts of vent holes into the cowling. I guess this was why!

I've thought about making my own by attaching two eye bolts through my transom and carrying a 7' piece of re-rod.... this is much sexier though. IN

    lost or stolen bearing buddies?

I guess they could have been overloaded with grease and popped, but I doubt it. I only filled them enough to make the blue part barely moveable. The road was a little rough for a ways there, but I had my eyes peeled while driving 10 mph the whole way home and should have been able to spot one...

    hiltonhed SC

We rented a large house there with the extended family like 6 years ago and had a great time. I think we found it on https://www.VRBO.com Saved some money by finding a house a couple blocks from the beach. Can't remember where we ate and we didn't do any fishing, sorry. Also check out...

    Best fish finder under $100?

I'll take a look at the piranhas, thanks. Sounds like we are "in the same boat" when it comes to depth finders. I would like to be able to tell weather I'm over a brush pile or a boulder, but don't really care about seeing the fish on the screen.

    Best fish finder under $100?

I had an Eagle Cuda portable fish finder that I used back and forth between my canoe and jon boat. Suction cup mount transducer, and it ran on AA batteries which I only had to replace once a year. I really liked it, but it was misplaced somehow this winter. Now I'm looking for one that...

    lost or stolen bearing buddies?

I only had about a 15 mile drive, so I just took it slow. I stopped to check them halfway and they wern't hot yet. Looking back, I should have just put some duct tape over them. #-o

    lost or stolen bearing buddies?

I just think it would be a weird thing for someone to steal. I mean they aren't worth THAT much. They could have broke the window in my car and gotten some better loot, and they would have had to have a mallet to get them out. I guess I wouldn't put it past people these days though.
