Zubes' 14 ft Alumacraft shallow V

Looks very good so far Zubes, nice job. I have a similar Alumacraft 1955 FD and was thinking about removing the middle seat as well to give more room.

12 foot gruman is this a good one for mod

Hi The higher you go with the deck, the less stable it will be IMHO. I had a 12 foot 52" beam and I decked it as close to the bottom as possible, the board was pretty much resting on the ribs. Good luck

Adding a sailing rig to a 12 ft mod v Sears

Thanks for the encouragement. I'll be going to the drawing board to figure something out. I guilt an ad on sailing rig for a 17ft Grumman canoe years ago, I suppose I can at least start there and see where this will take me. I like the idea of cutting the bottom open and adding a center board vs...

Adding a sailing rig to a 12 ft mod v Sears

Hi Has any one tried adding on a sailing rig on a 12 ft alum boat? Of course it will not be meant for serious sailing but rather fur fun on small lakes with a small sail. Just about to get it moving a little. Thanks

    1956 Alumacraft FD ribs

Hi I recently bought an old 14 ft Alumacraft model FD Queen of the Waterway and noticed that the cross ribs across the bottom do not have any draining holes. So when ever it rains the boat fills up with an inch of water, about the hight of those ribs. I thought of drilling holes in the ribs to...

    20HP Chrysler outboard model 2021

Hi I recently bought a 1955 Alumacraft model FD, it came with a free 20 HP Chrysler model 2021 complete with the controls and steering station. The engine turns but I can not get a spark or get it started. I don't know if there are any other problems with it. Is it worth it to go through the...

    Sears 12ft v mod v - floor boards

Cedar sounds good. I have some left over fence planks that I can cut into strips and sand down a little. I guess I'll have to place them really close to each other as much as possible to avoid loosing stuff. Thanks for the input guys.

    Sears 12ft v mod v - floor boards

hi I'm about to start working on putting down a floor in my 12ft sears. I was thinking instead of using plywood to use cedar stips 1/2 x2 inch. Has anyone done that before? could you give me some hints on how far to space the joists and how to attach it to the bottom of the boat. Thank you

    1951 14' Starcraft Semi-V Conversion

That looks great, it certainly gave me some ideas to work with on my conversion. How wide is your boat though? It seems wider than your average 14ft'rs. Good luck with the live well and the rest of it. I'll be following your future posts.

    1972 Johnson 9.5 model 9R-72 L

Hi I just boat a 9.5 HP model 9R72L, the motor runs fine but the idle is a bit high. I noticed that the throttle handle does not return all the way back to the STOP position. I opened the cover and also noticed that the piece of metal, connected to the throttle hanle, that slides back and forth...

i thought insulation pink foam was closed cell? maybe I'm wrong. Interesting that that guy ran the board sideways instead of bow to stern. I wish there were pictures of it .

Floor boards for a 14ft crestliner superseman

Yes I'm thinking to lay the strips lengthwise? Separated by a small distance and conforms to the shape of the boat. I was thinking this will be a very low floor perhaps a couple of inches off the bottom that way the CG is not out of kilter but it will add a bit of comfort.

Floor boards for a 14ft crestliner superseman

Hello I have seen so many wonderful projects for adding floors to v hull boats that it got me thinking about doing the same to my boat. Instead of using plywood, I'd like to use 2.5 or 3 inch strips and lay them down about 1/4 or 1/2 inch apart. Has anyone done a project as such before? How...

    14ft Crestliner Super Seaman 1966

Thanks you guys, this is helpful information, I guess 9.9HP would be the way to go, after all I'm mostly going to be on small lakes. Boberboy: sounds like you mostly fish around Victoria. My kids love to catch panfish, what lake would you recommend me to go for some action. Thanks

    Finally happening!!

Thank you for posting all these photos, I'm about to start working on a 14 ft Crestliner and wanted to put in a low floor but instead of using plywood, I thought of using 2" - 3" wood strips spaced about 1/4 or 1/2 inch apart. What did you find out about the primer? how come you didn't paint on...
