I guess there are two schools of thought here. I grew up with the understanding that the bow Eye was to sit below the bow stop. This way, in the event of an emergency stop, your boat did not end up in the bed of your truck. However, in either arrangement, I guess this is what the safety chain is...

From looking at the charts it looks like this, as all with the first two numbers have in common: 52 - width in inches at transom 14 - length in feet (rounded) 357 - Not sure (your count of production sounds good)

Thank you so much! This information was very helpful, and it would have taken me a long time to get this. I'd never even heard of that manufacturer before. I did find a number on the back right of the transom... 52-14-357, and I think I've narrowed down to '54-'56.

Well, registration got approved. Stickers are in the mail. That was a lot less hassle than I expected. Now to figure out what I've actually got. I'll add some more pictures in a bit.

Thanks for the reply. I did get a bill of sale yesterday with the boat, as I knew I needed that to register here in Georgia. Owner didn't have a copy of registration, but I was able to contact Alabama today and they emailed it to me. Had no details on the make/model, just the year--1970...
