Hi guys. Need help with my Merc 9.8 (1982ish). Twisting the throttle does not increase motor speed. Manually moving the throttle lever works great. What controls the levers movement with the twist grip? I don't see how the two tie together. Can't find the answer in parts diagrams. Anyone know...

Thanks all! Yesterday I bought a 12" x 12" 16 gauge steel plate to make the transition from seat to swivel. Should work ok.

I bought a new seat and 3° tilt swivel for my jon boat. The seat mounting holes are much closer spaced than mounting holes on the swivel top. 5.25" vs 6.25" spacing. This does not seem right to me. Mounting holes should be somewhat standard, should they not?

I have a few rivets leaking enough to dry dock her. New rivets would be a major job due to leak location. Has anyone tried using JB Weld Marine ? I know it will seal it but concerned about wave pounding. Any experience good or bad?

That is quite possible but not intentional. How is that a concern? Not second guessing. Due to a head injury I am trying to "re-learn".

I have a 1981 Merc 110. Have never used it or even had it running. I just replaced the impeller. I was checking to make sure the shift positions were correct and found that it will not shift to reverse. Any ideas?

I am in need of a new id plate (year,model,capacity,etc.) for the transom. Mine is completely worn off. Does anyone know if the companies will send a replacement?

I think I will scrap the douglas fir idea and go with marine ply and spar urethane. Local lumber yards have to order the marine grade plywood but only takes a few days. I have all winter :lol: Also thinking about Gorilla Glue All purpose All type waterproof glue for the plywood.

Sorry... forgot part of the previous post. The boat is a 12 ft lake jon (wider than standard jon). The motor is 9.9 Merc. I also am trying to decide whether to use ply, wafer, of douglas fir. Cant seem to find any posts about doug fir. It is the best thing to use for house parts that are...
