    1987 tracker tx17 rebuild

I’ll try to take some tomorrow. Boat has worked flawlessly. I’ve fished out of it a ton and fished 3 tournaments with it but now it will be up for sale. I ended up coming across a fiberglass boat that was pretty much a bare hull and after two long nights fished a tournament with it on Sunday...

    1987 tracker tx17 rebuild

No real updates besides i fished my first tourney out of it and it worked great. Rod locker comfortably holds 16 rods and room for more. I haven’t got my my prop situation finished yet. It’ll run 42mph with a 18p prop at 6200 rpms which is over revving it and I hit 45mph with a 24p at 4800rpms...

1985 bass tracker tournament TX...17'....complete rebuild.

That plug on your controls is for the gauges. Gray wire is tach signal, purple is accessory power, black is ground, id guess the 5th is probably for a trim sensor without looking at the manual that would be my guess anyway. I had the same engine on my tracker when I bought it but it was Mariner...

1985 bass tracker tournament TX...17'....complete rebuild.

Looks good. Your doing a great job on it. I would of loved to go back to the original decals on mine but the ones I used where given to me and already had a bit of money in it doing the new console and different motor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

1997 Tracker Pro Team 17 overhaul

Well I understand your philosophy but I have more than enough hp and I tried weight in the rear and it was worse. I’ll play around with it some more and see what helps. Honestly I think the older bass tracker hills weren’t made for running 40+mph. It did the same with the old 45hp on it and...

1997 Tracker Pro Team 17 overhaul

Are you getting porpoising? I gained 2 mph with my 24 prop but need to raise the motor back up to gain some rpm but can hardly trim the motor without it bouncing. I put my trolling motor batteries up front to help and only did so much. It’s been cold and rainy here so I haven’t had much time to...

    1989 Bass Tracker TX17

I really don’t think that weight can hurt these boats much. I have a deck all the way to the Console, framing completely out of wood with 4 storage compartments and a center rod locker and still had to put my 2 trolling motor batteries up front to help with porpoising and it’s still not enough...

1997 Tracker Pro Team 17 overhaul

That’s odd I have virtually same boat same jackplate different motor but I can literally have my jackplate all the way up with little problem. What prop did you try it with? If it was the chewed up aluminum one I could see and if it was a stainless with vent holes that would also cause it. I...

You should of tried raising the jackplate with the 21 pitch prop. Probably would of got the rpms to come up Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1987 tracker tx17 rebuild

Just a few updates. I ran the boat to test out the motor with the jackplate. 0-30mph was absolutely insane but topped out at 43. Also motor was a little to high. I lowered the motor a 1/2 inch and haven’t been back out to test. Also updated my electronics to garmins. I am running the new echomap...

i know what you mean by to much pop lol. I have a 90 on mine and topped out at 43. 0-30 was insane though. New prop soon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1989 Bass Tracker TX17

Purple wire is accessory power for your gauges. Obviously you don’t have to use it if you are running a power from something else. I don’t remember what outboard you have the trim probably has a leak in one of the seals. You could check the manual let down screw and make sure it is tight also...

    1989 Bass Tracker TX17

Probably depends a lot on what trolling motor you are running and the amps that it draws. I’m running a bigger 24 volt motorguide and upped my wiring to 8 gauge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Bow mount for Humminbird Piranha max4

I would use a ram mount that way it’s mounted a little higher so you can see it better while standing. Let’s be honest it’s not a hds 12. My helix 5 that I had on the bow needed raised up. These eyes can’t see as good as they once could. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    1987 tracker tx17 rebuild

The motor that is on it currently is a 90. I’m not sure if it’s going to stay on or not. I looked up and seen a lot of these boats are rated for 80. My tag says 90 and I seen a post somewhere else that another one was rated for 90. Either way if you go off coast guard you calculations it’s fine...
