    6HP to 9.9HP on a 14' Boat... Worth It?

It depends, performance wise yes it will make a big difference, but it can have other negative effects. Here for example if an engine is 5hp or less the boat doesn't require registration or a license, so changing to a 6hp would be a problem or a hassle for little gain, but a 9.9hp would ve a...

    Broke the Ice

I just like trolling for enjoyment of it, its not always about catching fish or at least thats what we tell ourselves.

Super wood...what will they think of next?

From both an engineering and environmental standpoint this is potentially a game changer. Tree farms could provide a good income for farmers and still allow them to run stock. There is potential here thats for sure, whats the bet the patient gets bought by a mining conglomerate.

    Little boats 8,10'

I've had 10's and 12's snd have found 11's to be perfect for me. The 10's are good, but for water like that then I would prefer what we call a mini tinny or tinoo. They are perfect for car topping, or the back of a ute, and very light so they are easy to carry, I imagine the mini tinny is...

Jon or V or Mod V

Yep I'd see it the same, its about the design and not the material, I'd almost call that boat a punt but not quite.

    Float pods

Definitely looks the goods, I was thinking about some of them myself to keep the transom higher and help with stability a bit. Very interested in hearing how they work out in the water.

Jon or V or Mod V

More importantly whats everyone's favorite? For me its the V nose punt or Modified V. I find it the best for the fishing and hunting that I do, its the best for the lakes and the rivers, it will do the job in the estuaries as well.

What on earth is this boat?

I had my little 11ft out today, its growing on me more and more so I might avoid this one. I wouldn't keep it and after getting it fixed up I'd wind up loosing out and it would take forever to sell. I might keep an eye on it, if it doesn't sell for a few months I might buy it if I can get the...

What on earth is this boat?

Any idea about stability? Its a very unusual style of boat for Australia in general but especially around here.

    1981 Alumacraft F16 16’ V Hull winter project

I like the wood flooring, it loks a lot classier then carpet does.

What on earth is this boat?

I always keep an eye out for new boats and I found this one, I was looking for a punt but this one is advertised as a V nose punt but it looks more like a rather funny shaped green phallic symbol. :LOL2: But our local river is full if logs and fallen timber and the river us quite murky, so it...

Jon or V or Mod V

Around here we would call them V hull, V nose punt and punt, although a true punt would be a little wider. But everyone would call all 3 a tinny, any aluminum trailer/roof top boat is a tinny.

V bottom jon boat vs flat bottom

Theres always a bit of give and take, a v hull is way way smoother and cuts through the chop better, it also handles the rough better. A flat bottom boat also handles shallow water and timber beter, its more, much more stable to stand in. So it depends on what you want to do with your boat...

Our new Aussie member should be proud

They are delivering pizzas somewhere with drones apparently. I've got a mate that drone fishes, it works well for him.

    12' vs. 14' v hull

Nice looking boat them, low sides, flat bottom and a lot of point on the nose.

V bottom jon boat vs flat bottom

I've had a number of flat bottom punts, they are fine duck boats and fine shallow water boats for fishing. I've also found my little V nose flat bottom boats great, no where near as stable as the flat bottom punts but they don't fight the water like the punts. What we call a V nose punt is the...

    Accessorie wires not large enough

I've found 12ga wire fine on light bars on utes, so it should be fine on a boat.

Aluma-Weld 1440 Jon to "Flats" Boat

Just remember the golden rule of painting a boat, 99% preperation and 1% application. Thats the advice that saves time and money in the end. Thats also my preferred color scheme, doesn't stand out to the fish (they make lures bright for a reson) and it doubles up for ducks.
