    Transducer Mount

Also, the suction cup mount I bought was only $16 from Gander Mountain.

    Transducer Mount

I've used a Lowrance suction cup mount for a few seasons with no issues. With an 18 hp Evinrude on my 14ft alumacraft, and running over 20 MPH, I have no issues with it coming loose. The suction cup is very soft and "sucks" extremely well. Just make sure the surface is clean and smooth...

    matt's alumacraft 14'

The side supports looks great! I was planning on doing something similar, but I was going to make mine a bit wider so I could place rods on them with rod-saver straps. I was also going to make a few small cubby holes for stuffing a jacket or rain pants in, but I don't want to give up too much...

Looking good! I thought I was actually looking at a picture of my build when I saw yours. Let me know if you need any pointers, it looks like we are working with the same/very similar boat.

No changes since these pics. I'm actually sitting here thinking about my next mods... trolling motor bracket, rear casting deck, and side storage. Posting your mod in a new thread should be as easy as going into the "Jon and V boat Conversions and Modifications" forum and clicking the [ + New...

pauly399 - I cut the curves with a jigsaw and the straight cuts were made with a circular saw. For measuring the front deck, I made a template out of cardboard. This took a lot of time, but I wanted to make it right. Even after I transferred the template to the wood and cut it out, I still...

Pauly399- I believe the metal brackets are called strongties. I found mine at Home Depot or Lowes. Shawnfish- Read the previous 6-7 posts, I just answered this for on.the.other.line. I do not have any major issues with flexing. I might build side storage boxes that tie the front and rear...

Looking for short (6-6.5') light spinning rod (Suggestions)

St Croix Triumph series. Great rod and lighter on the wallet than the other series. 6' and 6'6" available. $80 at Cabelas & BassPro.

    3-4 blade

The biggest difference going from 3 blade to a 4 blade prop will be the "hole shot" or grip the prop can get in the water. Sometimes a 4 blade prop can makes all the difference for getting on plane faster. Each boat/motor is different so it's hard to say how much faster. Assuming your 3 blade...

Honestly, I did not notice a single difference on the water. I could barely notice the loss of rigidity while prying on it and shaking it on the trailer in my driveway. I really had to pry on it, and I'm pretty sure it would have bowed with the center bench installed anyway. I'm still...

I actually do not have a picture if it at the moment and the boat is put away for the season under a few inches of snow in my parent's yard. We're supposed to have some warmer weather this weekend, so if I get the chance I'll stop by and take a quick picture of it for you.

Project "Livin Large" (update July 19 - rocket launchers!)

I did something similar with a small price of engineered decking. I got the piece of decking for free from Menard's (sample) and picked up a tube of Marine grade adhesive in a tube (not even sure what it was called). It has been glued to the transom, below the water line, for 2 years now with...

When using drift socks for drifting, you are best off attaching one to the bow, and one to the transom. That way it keeps the boat from spinning back and forth and will allow for a nice steady sideways drift.

coloradobassin - The boat is still stable with the front casting deck mounted to the top of the bench seats. It might be a little tippier, but the large deck allows you to have a wider stance and I think the difference is negligible. I haven't fished from the boat using the pedestal seat yet...

    Tow vehicle picture thread!

Here's my daily driver & tow vehicle. '07 TrailBlazer SS, AWD, 395hp 6.0L LS2 v8. It handles like a dream during the week (14.0 sec, 99.8 MPH quarter mile - stock) and satisfies all my towing needs on the weekend ('06 Crownline 200LS). I bought the SS new in August '07 and have racked up...

    Painting boat?

Quite a few guys have used paits such as Steel-Flex on the exterior to seal any leaky rivets, but by no means is painting necessary.

    16' monark makeover

Your build is really coming along nicely. I can tell you are thinking through every step to get things just the way you want. I wish I had more time to work on my build. I would have multiple designs on paper or CAD and then when I got to the worksite, I realized some things weren't going to...
