Help me choose a 22’ aluminum bay boat

That's a shame! and is an important reminder that the dealer itself is certainly a part of the equation when picking out a new boat these days.

Help me choose a 22’ aluminum bay boat

They certainly had some weld quality issues in trailers for a period but considering the amount of xpress boats out there on backtrack trailers that have never had issues the problem isn't as large as some make out. They also have several options and upgrades for the trailers including an HD...

    Aluminum or Wood

For the transom? You can use aluminum not all manufacturers use wood. Very few manufacturers still use wood today.

    Good alternative to plywood?

Open cell foam on a boat is a bad idea. Even sealing the ends that foam will absorb moisture over the years. I have some very similar panels on our farm we used to insulate cat houses and calf hutches and a very old case 580d with a busted heater. They don't hold up very well and like stated...

Help me choose a 22’ aluminum bay boat

Xpress has 2 diffrent hulls for the bay boats. I have a H bay I would recommend looking into the x bay for your usage. It has a self bailing hull unlike most others and is slightly wider and deeper than the H bay. I love my 20ft H bay it goes everywhere from shallow rivers, to deep mountian...

Bonding aluminum floor to inside hull?

Never heard of this being done not even sure if something meant to bond glass to steel will even work on aluminum. Rivets or welding are probably the most common methods. I've seen self tapping screws and riv nuts used for such things as well. I feel like using a bonding agent/glue /jb weld on...

    Motorguide the latest to fail

Mercury stepped into the electric motor game too so I guess with the lowrance ghost they didn't see the need for the rest of the lineup? Shame ...guess minn kota is about the only game left for a simple cheap no frills trolling motor. Maybe Lawrence will market a simple transom mount type...

They gone! What technologies they had have been sold off to Lowrance and simrad. No word yet if they or lowrance will provide support for existing models.

    Can't Get Out!

Yeah the HO is trim specific as of now. I test drove a 1500 rho it was only truck on the lot with the ho version of the hurricane . Was a lot of fun to drive but it took a serious hit in payload and towing capacities. I'll still be towing up to 10k a couple times a year and the warlock has a...

    Can't Get Out!

Go test drive one and you'll forget all about that hemi. I was apprehensive about grabbing a first year model but the engine has been in the grand wagoneer for a couple years now. On the ram forums every previous hemi owner praises the off the line torque and overall hp. The HO Hurricane is...

    Can't Get Out!

25 ram 1500 warlock with the hurricane straight six twin turbo. Traded in a 21 ram 2500 diesel. Our family farm finally bought a 19 ram 4500 so don't need to use my personal truck for the grunt work anymore. Forgot how nice a 1500 rides and it takes off from a stop light like my trans am ...

Anyone try Rhino Liner or LINE-X on an aluminum deck?

I like to walk barefoot and at times sprawl out on the deck and take a nap. Not sure linex would feel very good on the feet/skin I can see the traction benefits though . What flooring you use is subjective to how you use the boat and personal taste. I have a friend in TX that hunts gators...

    Can't Get Out!

I had hoped to get out one more time but I'm in the middle of a kitchen renovation and hunting season is coming up fast. We got out last week and had a good day and it gave me a chance to tow with the new truck. That kept me off the water for a few weeks too couldn't tow anything untill I hit...

    BRP sells marine division

I don't believe anyone has as of yet. Maybe we should all pool our resources or start a go fund me. Sure hope they don't let it die off in a bankruptcy filing if they don't find a buyer.

    BRP sells marine division

The old mako before white river got ahold of them were good boats. Sadly it's not just the boating industry this is happening in.
