    What did you get 2024?

Merry Christmas everyone. This year the girlfriend and I gave each other token gifts. We are thinking about moving and don't need more to pack. I got an Action Camera with waterproof case and a 32gb SD card. It's not an expensive camera which is fine for a first video camera. I won't worry if...

Hull paint flaking off, repaint or remove?

I'd start sanding along the flaking edge, the loose paint will come off quickly any paint that is well attached to the hull can be scuffed and feathered for painting.

To PAINT or not to PAINT that is the question!

My 1971 Sears Sea King has 54 years of original patina. This spring when I redo the transom, foam in the benches, and add foam under a new plywood floor. I plan to keep the hull as is with a few exceptions. The new transom and floor will be sealed and painted a flat gray. It's only original once.

    Ghost Town?

I'm here. Things slow down during the holidays and winter in general. After the new year I'll start the wiring and lights on my trailer project.

    Can you ID this hull?

My 1971 Wards Seaking has the same knee and corner cap designs. It was made by Delhi which at some point was part of Starcraft.

    1970 Yarbrough 16' trailer

Went looking at Rustoleum spray paint for the fenders at Menards. Rustoleum no longer has Glossy Army Green. They have a couple of greens I like but they are satin not glossy. I'm not sure that's the look I'm looking for. They have Glossy Clear I could do a topcoat with. There is also the option...

    1970 Yarbrough 16' trailer

My trailer is now painted and assembled to the point I could use my magnetic lights to go down the road. This was the point I was hoping to reach while the weather was still ok. Now I can roll the trailer in and out of the garage as I have time to finish the rebuild. I have until early spring...

    1970 Yarbrough 16' trailer

Today I picked up the yellow marker lights, U-bolts for the axle the bolts and nuts to attach coupler and adjustable suspension. The yellow lights are Tow Smart brand from Meijer I could have gotten some less expensive lights, but I really like these. I found the square U-bolts for 2" axles...

    1970 Yarbrough 16' trailer

Neon pink and green type colors are not in the running. A black and white trailer doesn't do it for me. Glossy Army green in the booklet looks interesting. The fenders are very small if I don't like the color I can change it.

    1970 Yarbrough 16' trailer

I need to correct something the HD bolt referenced earlier are the 7/16"x14tpi that mount the adjustable springs and fenders to the trailer frame. I will replace them with grade 5 fasteners. The fenders look to be galvanized but were painted when I got the trailer. The paint was not sticking I...
