I agree with the transom mount not holding up on the front . Pain to deploy if you move a lot , bow mount is a lot easier . I think If the motor head isn't laying horizontal it will beat the seals out ,a friend of mine trashed 2 motors with water in them , he's had better luck with a bow mount

well I had an issue with my motor guide quick release. It kept breaking the lip in front off . Every time it broke I would have to buy a whole new one not just the part that broke .... so a trip to the local machine shop cured it !

a good start would put the prop shaft parallel to the hull surface . . its a real balancing act to get everything right . cav plate even or up a little from the bottom of the transom . the boat will show ya where it wants to run . use a mph app for your phone or gps and watch speed move...
