Good job on the console. I have a question for you. The ONYX product i've seen is pretty rough textured, but looking at your console pics its looks fairly smooth. Are there different versions of this product?

New to using these - the string you use to keep them in place loosens and moves after a while. I've seen different types of bobber stops in the stores... What's your favorite bobber stop or do you have any tricks for using the tied stops?

Ok, WD-40 on the pinion gear did the trick! Fired right up in the driveway so I hauled it over to the river, putted around the dock area looking for leaks or any other problems (I just bought this boat) then scooted up and down the river several times. :D

Shouldn't be a problem. I really recommend a 14 ft boat. I bought a 12 foot because I didn't know how often we would go. Turns out she is always bugging me to go fishing and it didn't take long to start wishing for a little extra room (hence the Basstracker Pro 17 purchase 2 days ago....)

When we were kids we would use a cricket bucket, make funnel shape with window screen and wire it to the bucket. We would put a piece on baloney in it and toss it in a ditch, then come back later and empty all the crawdads out.

I bought one several years ago and it is holding up - you might look at upgrading tires if you are going to be pulling on the freeway.
