What I'd do is research what 9.9's are actually 15's with a smaller carb, then put the bigger carb on. Possibly even bring it in to the shop to see if it can get bored over and get a bigger piston in it. This way the cowl still says 9.9, and you can run it on restricted lakes :wink:

Unless I missed it, they didn't post size. It could be a good deal, kinda depends on the size. Considering a 16' new one of these will easily run you 2x that price.

I was at BPS in ATL today drooling over a boat they had out front, a tracker 2072 That thing is HUGE. And I was SHOCKED at the low price, just under 5k for the hull, and a hair over 6k for the hull and trailer. It's a bare bones hull, one bench seat in the rear, and that's it, completely open...

But IMHO it's easier to spend money on each of those things one at a time as the project grows, than to spend it all out of pocket at once. And when I'm done it'll be a custom rig to my needs not a cookie cutter boat.

It's doable, you'll put in a lot of legwork. But I'm the same way, I refuse to pay too much just for the convenience of finding it easy.
