    Can the transom take it?

The boat is an early '70's model, and whatever stickers were on it are either missing or so faded that I can't read it. I didn't think of the transom savers. Thanks.

    Can the transom take it?

I want to put a gas kicker motor on the back of my aluminum, but how can I tell how much weight the transom can support? I was also wondering if the kicker motor stays on the transom during transport. I would think that the bouncing of the motor would put a strain on the transom as well.

Give me some Ideas on a livewell

I love the rope handle idea! You don't really need the straps that it comes with. When that thing is filled with water, it's not going anywhere anyway. Thanks for the idea!

Give me some Ideas on a livewell

It's been very good to me. Empty, its light enough that I can pick it up by myself (I have a spinal disease that makes lifting hard). The center console has a removable plug in it, so in the summer I just throw some ice in there and as the day goes along, the ice melts through the plug hole to...

Give me some Ideas on a livewell

If you're referring to the Toho Rig, the lids say not to sit or stand on them. My kid sat on it and it held him okay (he's about 45+#). It does look like it starts to cave in when I crawl across it trying not to put too much weight on it...

    when to rebuild the transom

I actually have wood on the outside and inside. But, you just gave me the reason I need to rebuild it though. When my trolling motor is on high, I can hear the aluminum make noose under the stress.

    Identifying Year/Make/Model

I have no idea of what my boat is. All I know is that it's 14' long and was supposedly made in the late '60s. The era isn't even a definite, the guy I bought it from was either the third or fourth owner. How can I go about finding out what the Year/Make/Model is? Or am I hosed on that info?

Wired 2 Fish and Vicious Fishing CONTEST

I'm in. Anyone know if any of those models fit over prescription glasses? Some of them look like they might. If not, my brother would get some great use out of them.

    when to rebuild the transom

Seeing all the threads on rebuilding transoms, it got me wondering; how do you know when its time to do this? I only run a trolling motor on mine, but would eventually like to get a little gas motor to go with it. The wood is definitely old and looking pretty rough. Its far from rotted away...

    Your bottom feeder status??

He's the best. I would do anything for him. We've always been tight, what I'm able to do for him though is limited.

Give me some Ideas on a livewell

I bought a toho livewell rig from a friend. They sell for like $200-$300 brand new. It fits perfectly and has an aeration system run by a bilge pump. Works great. I have pics, but theyre too big for the forum for some reason.

    Your bottom feeder status??

I'm handicapped and am in the process of getting disability, so money is REALLY tight. For the past two years (been sick for 5, disability case going on 4) my awesome brother has paid for 98% of my fishing stuff, including half the cost for my new (to me) boat.

    Rivets

Okay. So if i'm understanding this correctly, the 3/16 & 1/4 measurements are the width of the rivets. How long should the rivets be? Looking at the links to mcmaster that were provided earlier, there are a lot of different sizes. Here (Colorado), at least, I know you have to have a business...
