you can get after market electronics for it at wulffe marine,their the cheapest I have found for new stuff. the one the guy above has should be fine as the 80s are pretty much the same up to 20hp. 7.5 9.8 and the 20. hope that helps.
I saw some on ebay the other day. sorry I can't get more specific, they were under merc outgoard parts. there's alot of adds to go through but I'm sure their there.
Thanks J that info sure helped me understand what I'm dealing with. The price on that ebay site you sent was quite a savings . I'm going to replace parts of the wires that are cracked and shrink wrap them to start with then go from there. Thanks alot
Sorry I didn't get that more clear. But yes it is the switch box. I don't really under stand the function if someone could explain it that would help me out. For now I plan to replace the bad sections of wire. but I'm leary of any thing that can go wrong. Ya know Murphy's Law. Thanks
Does anyone know where I can get a switch[ the one between the stator and coils] for a reasonable price. the one on here now has some insulation on the wires that has gotten hard and is cracking off. My locale merc dealer quoted about 275.00 for one if they can find it .Seems awful high to me...
Being new at this I have a transom question. The 14ft 1968 Richline semi V that I bought needs the transom boards replaced. The ones that are in there are wafer board and from being on here I know that's no good. 1. How far down from top of transom past the center line brace does it need to go...

Being new to this I need to find out about bunks on my trailer. When I bought it with my 68 Richline 14 fter,it had no bunks just rollers front and rear on the center line. That just doesn't look right to me. just looking for some imput.
