I guess I will update this with some issues I have run into. The boat is awesome. I couldn't be happier. It is extremely stable. I have no problems walking around in it and even with two people standing it still feels fine. The only problems I have run into are that the boat is difficult to run...

Its done and I love it!!! :D Need I say more?! I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. Ask questions if you have any. I call it battle ship grey. It is the perfect color. That orange wire in the bow is a wire from the trailer. It connects into the trolling motor plug and...

Now that I am working on the boat again I thought I'd update this page. With the mild winter I pulled the boat out and started altering my design. I started with the floor. The old floor was screwed straight to the supports running across the boat which not only created a curved floor...

    Batteries and other boat electrical

The interior lights are going to be an led strip. I am debating on running lights around the entire boat so the whole interior is lit up or chopping it up and providing light to a select few areas. I was going to replace the navigation lights with leds also. Anybody ever just replaced the bulbs...

    Batteries and other boat electrical

I have the seven prong and I also have a relay set up so if the key is off the trailer wiring (and any of accessories I wire to it) receive no power. I always disconnect the trailer before it touches water. I was afraid the batteries wouldn't work together, I'll just add a disconnect in for the...

    Batteries and other boat electrical

I have an optima deep cycle battery that runs everything in my boat. When trailered the alternator on the truck charges the battery on the boat. I have 8 small 12v 7.2 amh batteries also. Would it be beneficial to wire two of these up to the optima? Would they charge while the truck was plugged...

After looking at other boats on here I am going to redo the back floor. I was rushing when i put it in and didnt plan for drainage. I like when other people have left the floors hinged or removable so that is my plan. That way I have access to every inch of the bottom for repairs/tightening...

I have an electrical diagram I can import later. 6 gauge from from trolling motor plug to battery compartment then another 6 gauge to the back trolling motor plug. Also if I can fit/afford it I will run a 6 gauge to the back for the switch panel. Then 14 gauge for navigation lights, led strip...

I hadnt thought of foam when i first built it. Though now I am trying to figure out where to put it. I calculated the amount of foam I will need wrong so now I need to redo that also. Lots of places I fish are several hundred feet of water 100 yards from the shore so i feel foam is a good idea.

    1963 18hp evinrude fastwin

Anybody know of a good place to find parts for a 1963 18hp evinrude fastwin? Also I will use the motor in both the Colorado Rocky mountains and in central Nebraska. How do I adjust it to cope with the large elevation fluctuations?

    12 foot alumacraft

How much weight do you think you are adding? Also, does the framing just rest on the bottom or did you screw it down somehow? I need to figure out how to redo the floor in my alumacraft so that water will drain. I feel your pain on the college budget. I use my tax return every year to fund a...

    1981 12' Alumacraft

After using the bench seats for a while, I decided to redo the interior of the boat. I framed the entire front in with 2" aluminum angle and then used 1"x8" boards across the width where the seats were to support the upper deck. Its also supported lengthwise down the middle from the bow to the...
