I knew things were going to good /1992 2 stroke 40hp Yamaha

I've been online for quite a few years, but I can't remember many occasions when so many forum members came forth and offered excellent advice and warnings about a repair. Neither can I recall when the initial questioner has been so courteous and prompt in his findings , after trying the repair...

    Moving a boat Solo

You'd be amazed at what a riding mower can horse around. Leverage is your friend. Archimedes famous quote: “Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.”. Best wishes. Be safe.

    Grandpas Boat

I rehabbed 6 or 7 old tins. It was work, but I enjoyed it more than fishing. If you can look up the links below, you may be able to avoid some problems I had. It is a worth-while project. Best wishes.

Hurricane Prep: Securing my boat & trailer

So...you're telling me you secured your boat and motor with a tether that a fox terrier can pull out to hold your craft down in hurricane winds? Uh, do you work for FEMA? Take care.

    12 Foot V-Hull Storage

In my limited experience, eventually most small boat owners find that with seats, storage, some linkages, and trailer loading and unloading, they fashion some sort of tent and cover their craft while still on the trailer, so they are not re-fashioning the craft every year. Then too, a boat needs...

    Does adding decking improve stability?

Somebody must have said this already, but any elevation of the floor surface will raise the center of gravity, dramatically if some stands up; then encountered waves, chop, bump over a hidden log--etc, can send a guy flying. Be safe.

Any experience running fast shallow Appalachian mountain rivers...

Last Century, I worked for a company with 6 plants scattered around the U.S. Part of the work involved putting faces of workers' personal pursuits in front of the rest of the Corporation. One plant was in Chattanooga, TN. I was tipped to a guy who ran whitewater rivers in canoes. His boats were...

Help with Lone Star Boat ID - Model and year

Back in 2015, a member named Michelle did outstanding work on a Lone Star. Here's a link to her postings. Life interferred with her completion, but she was doing some champion work. Miss her. https://www.tinboats.net/search/99400/

    Keep it or sell it

Use it for a year, spend the Winter reviewing your satisfactions and disappointments with the 14ftr, make a decision next Spring. You have a perfectly suitable boat that is paid for right now; use it and see if the performance of the fishing boat matches your performance in it. (I'd just keep...
